Besides, this should act as a warning to all, particularly those who have moments of madness like me! If anyone had asked me about it I would have screamed 'NO, YOU FOOL, IT'S A SCAM!'
ooOOH how the mind works!!!!
I only have two questions.....if you knew it was an obvious scam....
A) Why on earth buy it you dumb@ss?
B)Why are you warning us MSE'rs?We don't need warning as you have found out by our replies...we knew it was a scam from the off.I still think it was a scam by you and you was hoping we would all pm you to get details of this offer.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
One born every minute - I cannot believe people still fall for this kind of scam.
Don't ever reply to an email from Lagos (the old 419 scam).

What makes me cross is when you`ve purchased something from an ebay member and they think that gives you the right to email you spam !! GrrrDebt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0

I just laugh at people who say it isn't a pyramid scheme, money certainly isn't generated out of no where.
The only way these things work is a minority of people gain money and a majority loose money.0 -
lyniced wrote:How do you google people? Just curious.
To do the most simple search just pull out the name of the person on the email and search that, if nothing shows up then add the employers name as well. This really only works with Government or Public sector email addresses but even on a simple search you can find out tons about a person. The reason this works on public sector addresses is they tend to follow a standard format showing the full name, or name and initial of the person and then the department they work for. i e J.Smith.AT.DOH.Gov.uk (the addresses are slightly more complicated than that but it serves as an example).
The reason I know this works is that I have both a Government address and an NHS address and someone showed me how to find my details with one simple click. My own details will bring up a library photo of me, details of my home and family and my educational qualifications and previous employment history.
Even with some non public sector email addresses you would be surprised what you can get just by googling the whole email address.

Sigh.
Someone hacked my yahoo account, thought it great fun to send one of these out to everyone in my business address book (mostly ebayers) under CC: so their addresses were visable and then put my email add in the list - whilst I presume putting theirs somewhere above it in the list.
I changed my passwords immediately after I found out and sent an apology email to everyone BCC this time on the list as well as deleting any yahoo address books - why keep em??!?. AND then one of the reciepients SPAM-Bombed my email 3 days later as revenge - 3000 spam emails in 1 hour. Not my day that one eh!? I'd have gladly paid the original hacker £3 just to get them to leave me alone LOL.

Gosh that's terrible. I can't understand people that act maliciously just for the sake of it, they don't gain anything and it's very petty. For someone to have found your password they must have known you to get some idea what type of passwords you use, did you ever discover who it was?
