  • When I rung to activate my virgin/mbna card I was told that there was no charge on BT on my virgin card during the initial promotional % rate period.

Well going off what other Virgin card holders are saying, I shouldn't be charged as I applied on the slip sent with the agreement form and they are supposed to tell me first if they are going to charge.

Got a letter from Virgin last week asking me if I wanted to apply for a credit card ???, LOL! already applied last week thanks but now they want to give me a free MP3 player, timing eh! ::)

    Hi,

Not sure if there's a list of these anywhere (please tell me if there is) but I'd like to know what cards currently do an SBT, and which ones charge a fee, and how I actually do one, as none of them really seem to publicise how to. :-/

I'm not bothered about long interest free periods, as I only need it to pay off a small overdraft.

I already have a Mint card, a HBOS card and a Smile card.

  • Hello VP

Sounds like you need an Egg - you can transfer your overdraft directly onto the card, no fee, currently 0% until June 05 I think (might become July 05 next month!). :D
  • VP - your mint card gives free SBT, use the cheques they supply to pay money in to your bank account.

Free only if you are in your 0% intro period (or maybe if you have a positive balance on your Mint card). :o

Thanks everyone for the replies :)

I may transfer my credit card balance to the Egg card next time, so I think I'll save that one for then, as my credit card balance is much larger than my overdraft ;)

Just to clarify, are you saying that if I apply for the SBT at the same time as the card, I shouldn't get charged for it? ???

Oh, knew there was something else...I DIDN'T get charged for the SBT afterall. Sorry to have gone on a bit about this but it would have made a huge whole in my prospective gains.

Thanks for your help everyone. :-*
