I am trying to find a break for me and wife (kids with grandparents) either in UK or Europe. MAx £400 total for 2 nights (inc flights if required) anyone suggest anything? Initially thought of lake district, but was going to cost £400 for something nice. Had a look on last minute dot com, but no real joy. If flying Leeds/Bradford would be ideal HELP

have a look on https://www.expedia.co.uk they have loads of city breaks starting from around £130 per person for 2 to 3 nights
you can go to dublin, edinburgh, barcelona, budapest, florence, lison, milan, oslo and many more
you can also try and book the break yourself. you only need to book flights and a hotel which is pretty easy.
look on https://www.tripadvisor.com for loads of info0 -
Paris!
My favourite hotel there Newton Opera has a 2 night weekend special 320 euros room and breakfast, with half bottle of champagne in room on arrival, a one hour cruise on the seine and dinner for 2 in a restaurant in Montmarte on the Saturday,(you just pay for the wine). When we went it was a four course dinner. The hotel is in a wonderful location by Madeleine.0 -
Try Warners - Adult only holidays.
http://www.warnerholidaysonline.co.uk/
Aslo have a look at the discount board for the latest e-codes for Warners, but check out the prices witht he codes and the offers on their website to see which works out cheapest.
To me - romantic means quiet!
However!!
I also got through the door yesterday from crestaholidays about Paris - Libertel Touraine Opera 3* Superior, 3 nights plus first class free return upgrade for £420 total. (inc B&B) (before end August)
BUT - go to Eurostar.com direct and check out the train costs (standard class only) and look at the hotel through https://www.superbreak.com and the total cost is £60 cheaper!
Plus book it through quidco and get £20 (ish) in cashback! - This is where hubby and I are going for our wedding anniversary.
Downside is that the Paris prices are for midweek break though. The weekend prices weren't that more expensive.
Wherever you find, have a great time!0 -
Thanks for these, looking now0

Hi there,
I think you may find it difficult to find a "bargain" at this late stage. In recent years we have used the "cheap" flights, booked our own accommodation and transport to the hotel and have only ever paid £300 for a 3 or 4 night stay to Barcelona, Prague and Rome. We book months in advance to get the really good flight deals. We always check reviews of a hotel before booking it.
Good Luck, I hope you are lucky. But at least it's time on your own together, that's got to be priceless!!0 -
Is that your only option of airport or are you open to man or liverpool0

just another point in favour of paris, the dates you want to go it will be the end of the tour de france on the sunday and even if you do not like bike racing ( I dont but my boyfriend does) its a brilliant atmosphere! We have timed the end of our holiday to finish in paris then!
Also dont forget doncaster sheffield airport if you are in yorkshire!0 -
