  • 4 and a half months since receiving the last letter from SRJ. My last contact to them was drawn from the template from National Debtline, I also sent one to the internet TalkTalk/Tiscali.
Funnily enough, I've heard nothing from anyone since....... which is very odd considering the apparent seriousness of the situation when they first got in contact at Christmas

I too was getting texts from SRJ saying to contact them with a reference number. Upon contacting them, they requested my home address but as Im not willing to give out personal info until I know what they want - they refused to talk to me.

Been getting texts from them every day for over a month though so I've called my mobiles customer service department and had their number blocked from texting me.

The only thing they COULD be trying to collect is a "debt" that was made-up by Virgin Media after I left them (a supposed minimum contract even though I was with them for years and was out of contract). Even Virgin Media admit they have no records to prove I owe them anything or was in any minimum contract with them but they still continue to harrass me for money they know that they aren't owed. The case has been returned by 2 different debt-recovery companies already and VirginMedia is still try extorting money out of me by hiring more !!!!!! collectors? - lol

hi i have had a letter from srj debt recoveries
the letter is not properly written ie any letters that r offical, that i have recieved before the address is properly written where as this is not alined, the symbols on it look as though they r copied and pasted on to the letter it all just seems abit micky mouse. the letter does not contain any information of what the debt is, the date of the debt and no real correspondence address.
i havnt done anything about this im not going to call these people for something i know nothing about. i have had money problems before but have dealt with them and after having experience of real debt collectors this doesnt sound real. After googling the company i have found that several people r having the same problem.
we have only just moved into this property and r renting . the only thing that seems to have caused this is a gumtree ad i responded to. i have been looking for a job and had to fill in my email and address for a job ad, i them had a load of dodgey email that was sent to my friends and family from my email, and now this letter. can anyone help? im not afraid of these people and wont be pushed around but if i genuinely owe money i will pay. any advise would be welcome.
    thanks
  • I received a letter today from this company claiming I owe money by the looks of things its probably from an account I had with TALK TALK but the letter explains nothing
  • I've just had two letters from these people. Both breach the OFT guidelines about debt recovery. The amount they are chasing is £108. The letters state that an outcome if I don't pay is bankruptcy. Which isn't ever going to happen for that amount. This letter clearly misrepresents their authority and is a breach of their statutory duties under the OFT consumer credit act.

I'm also going after them because they have a duty to provide information about their actions on their website. The FAQ, and only the FAQ is under construction on their website.
  • Today I had a letter from SRJ the letter said due to data protection legislation details of the account are not included, I phoned SRJ and they were less than helpful it was for the Carphone Warehouse, it was from two mobiles I had cancelled last April. Got two PAC codes at the time so I could transfer to another network and because I did not used the PaC code for one of the phones they said the phone remains open hence I now have a bill for 151.61, ahh. I dont know who to pay now as carphone said to pay them and SRJ said to pay them, if I pay SRJ will carphone get the money, worried if I pay carphone warehouse that SRJ will keep hassling me, dont know what to do now, all a bit of a nightmare as set up my own dog walking company recently and have hardly any money for an unexpected bill. Thanks

Sending you all the comping fairy dust in 2012 and sprinkling some on myself too:j
  • It would appear our friends at srj can continue to treat ppl in any way they please and have nobody with any form of authority do anything about it! I have dealt with this company for years, been spoke to badly, called a racist, the phone put down on me and their latest trick I have noticed is helping themselves to :mad:money off my card without my say so! Yes I have reported it to my bank - waste of time!! My debt was around £700 and now at £50 all I can say to anyone out there that has to deal with is this is u have 2 choices a) don't even start paying them just go to court if u ever get given the choice or b) clear ur debt as fast as possible and never pick up the phone to deal with them unless u have to!
The most horrific experience I have ever had to endure and the worst customer services I can ever imagine exists!!
They change their name but the reputation follows! The staff should simply be ashamed to admit they workfor such an appauling joke of a company.
words and these websites rules will never express how much hate and anger I have for these ppl!

hi teeny666. Please do report them as I have written to the OFT and am waiting for a reply. They contuinue to harrass me even 1 month after I have given them a cancellation ref from AOL. They should not be allowed to get away with it.

Forgive me if I speak out of turn here, but be careful with AOL Cancellation references... it purely means a cancellation request was placed on the account and does not mean that the account was cancelled within the Terms and Conditions of service or that there was a zero balance on the account. Always get the name of the person who gave you the cancellation reference and also the department in which they work... tends to carry more weight.
  • i just wanted to sday about " S R J DEBT RECOVERIES". They are a completely fake firm preying on anybody they can to get easy cash from. Sadly this includes the vulnerable in our society who would believe criminals like these who demand money in the obvious very dubious circumstances. They began sending me very cheap laser-printed letters saying i owed a 3-figure sum which I didnt, from an account with a mobile phone company i had left. I called them on many occasions trying to explain I owed nothing but they insisted I did and during the following 3 weeks received another 4 letters demanding this 3-figure sum. When I threatened legal action they seemed to stop the letters, then I received the last one, then they stopped altogether. These are fakers and liars of the worst kind, and may even have changed their name now. Young girls answered the phone on the different occasions I rang, and I suppose technically this criminal cowboy firm is guilty of trying to obtain money by menaces. I wish now I had gone to the police and/or a legal firm at the time i began realising by putting up a resistance and mentioning legal action against them {which i did} they would cease their criminal demanding. I am at present seeking all company details to prosecute them, thinking about the vulnerable people theyve stolen money from, such as the elderly for example. I am sending this message to them too asking for their details at the same time. They cannot be legitimate by their obvious shady actions, and someone should put a stop to their demanding money by menaces, which from this forum alone one can tell what is the real truth. Best wishes everyone. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask me. ANTIFAKER.
