Another place to donate nappies or any toiletries to is your local women's refuge. Just do a google search for "women's refuge" and name of your nearest town. Our local one have been very grateful for donations of toiletries in the past. They have an office, separate to the refuge address, where you can drop things off. Women (and children) turn up at these places sometimes with nothing so they are grateful for basic items.0

I normally like to keep under the radar when I'm in Boots. Decide what I'm getting beforehand get in and get out as quickly as possible, and never attract the attention of the No7 SA's. This has all gone out of the window for me in Chester store for a while. Everyone of the checkout girls/boys had the pleasure of me this morning (stop it, you know what I mean) and every transaction was complicated, drawing attention.
It started with a no 17 purchase - had tried the mousse foundation on a .com order and liked it, so decided to get another while the gwp lip palette was on and magazine points offer. On the stand there were none of my colour (beige) only an amber and fair. There was a sign saying they were reduced to £3 so thought I'd try the fair and get myself an eyeliner. At the till it went through as full price, so helpful lady on the end who was giving smoothie samples out went over with me to look at the stand. There was only 1 amber one left and as she lifted the sign up I then noticed that it did say amber on the notice, and thought oh well, but she took no notice and went back to the till and told them it should definitely be £3 so they should override till - which they did hey hey.
Then went to No 7 stand to look for the new round P&P set I posted about yesterday, as had decided to treat myself to one as such a bargain. None to be seen, asked a No7 SA (well had to didn't I) and she didn't know what I was talking about. She asked another and then another, so I ended up telling them what was in it and that they had them at Cheshire Oaks. They all sounded really interested in them themselves but had never heard of them. Visiting supervisor lady was in, they asked her and she had heard of them, so they all started to look on their computers to find out more and I just said well I'll go and get one at Cheshire Oaks then. Wandered off and a few mins later No7 SA found me at the nivea Q10 stand to tell me excitedly they had found that there were 40 on their stock system so they must be in the warehouse upstairs she'd go and look for them so to hang about (lol).
She came down with big box and it was like christmas while they all ooohed and aaahed over them and I told them they would get their gwp as it was £20 (it was honestly hard to tell who was the SA and who was the customer at this point hee hee) and picked up the highlighter I'd asked the SA to look after for me as there were only a couple left and didn't want to go through till with it if I bought in the meantime. Got to till to pay and purposely left mag from first purchase in bag until she'd rung it all up, so I could whip it out last minute and she picked up the highlighter kept looking at it and then said to me "this is free" and then she ripped coupon out of a mag on the counter for me while I looked amazed at my good fortune (lol).
Went back with my new £5 off voucher to try and get the R&M foundation brush I failed miserably at at Cheshire Oaks. This new lady said it won't take it, don't know why, it is R&M, so she over rode it and I got it for £6 instead of the £11.
Then went back to Nivea Q10 stand, no reduced but thought for the 400 points I would try it anyway. After I walked away I noticed it hadn't given me the 400 points, so the nice till lady came with me to the stand satisfied herself I should have them and told all the other till people, that it wasn't giving the 400 points (so watch out for that) and they all said in unison "not you again" laughingly and then the nice smoothie giving away lady at the end said I deserved a smoothie for all my hard shopping and gave me a free innocent smoothie.
So a very successful shop in all, but am definitely not "under the radar" in Chester anymore, think I'll give it a break...... for a week or two anyways!0 -

Gosh, that was a good shop, well done you!!
After recommending the foundation brush to people on here, I ended up paying full price as mine didn't go through with the voucher, but think I'm going to take it back, explain that CS said it should have done and see if they'll refund it and let me buy it again with the voucher. I'll let you know how I get on.0 -

That's a good idea, because like you say, some must arrive there with very little. I'm sure I can find lots of unwanted bits and bobs out of GWP's etc and things I got free/cheap to start them off.0 -
I thanked you twice Bright*Idea, i noticed in our stores all is left is wrapping paper and tags, i say bin the lot of it, and use the shelves for some more bargains!
crazyposhgal - sounds like a plan!!!
Passion8 - I thanked you too!
Ljw - I have also noticed how rude they are, it winds me up, boots give out vouchers to make more money, and the vouchers are a tender of money, so why the staff get upperty i have no idea, you should remind them, that you keep the SA in a job!
dotchas - have fun!!!
bright idea, i will actually do that, i suppose our Hope Hospital when they were going to close the maternity ward down, so i shall go drop them off at the unit.
rubylou - i heard a few SA saying they got the bargains for themselves, now why is it that boots allow SA to get them in working hours, is that right?
Ruby awwwwwwwww do they use them at the dogs home?
duh blonde moment!

When 90% sale was on here...prospect centre Hull. I was in 8am and off doing my shopping. Noticed a SA upstairs with a trolley and in her hand was the No7 compact which originally sold at £16. On trolley were a few more I thought right I'm going to stalk her and see where she dumps these and grab a couple for presents. She went straight into the office with them.......I loitered and looked busy etc and waited for her to come out which she did eventually emptyhanded:mad: . basically they were in the office for the staff at a nice price of £1.60. Suppose they have to have their perks.0 -

I've just been searching Google for local refuges and Shelter. It made me feel a bit over-indulgent and I'm definitely going to donate a lot of my unwanted stuff too.Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -

Maybe they'd spotted your scissors RubyAnd to even things up, apart from the occasional SA with PMT
, I've found Kingswood staff to be the best. It's a shame that their 'offers' are way behind Prospect C.
