hmm have been reading through all the stuff on the chatting. it is hard for newbies to catch up, but I don't think 2 threads would work. "passion8" suggested marking 'chat' posts as OFF TOPIC, but what about posting offers in red/blue text so that they can be easily seen, and also crazyposhgal can see them more easily? that way all the explanations of the offers are seated within the chat around them?? Only a thought

I personally love the chatter, and don't think this group is clickey like some on forums. we welcome one and all, even if you've got 6 heads and 3 noses..... we could probably reccomend a no7 potion to make all 6 heads look younger too :D

Re using different coloured text - that seems like a great idea :T

The only problem is, I'm not sure how easy it is to do text in colour. It took me about 2 years to learn it on digital spy :o;) and was such a faffing about I ended up c+p the code from other peoples' posts :D

I was in boots today and there was an SA on her lunch break buying the new p&p set (which looks great value for money but i dont need it).. she bought that with a GWP, used a £5 voucher and 200pts.

The SA serving put it through for her and another nearby said she couldnt have it as it then took it under £15..first SA said yes she can as till isnt beeping, she then manually put the pts through and tutted they never work - LOL!!!

I nearly laughed my socks off at the 2 SA's arguing between themselves, the customer SA and the serving SA discussing the others one once she'd moved and getting a bargain in the meantime..

Helped me as now I know which sa's in that shop will try to put things through...

could a kind soul post a pic of the sanctuary GWP please? I am dying to see it..... i have to see if I need one or perhaps I might forego this GWP !!! [yeh right!]
I saw this today but can't find a photo anywhere, sorry. Its a silver/grey oblong box with 4 small pots of body butter type creams in it. I did notice that it was priced at £10 or free with a purchase of £10 so you could just buy one and get one free. I wouldn't say it was worth £10 but definitely worth a fiver, especially as each box contains a £3 voucher, so spend £10 get £6 back, towards another two boxes maybe.

Good enough reason to say that you definitely "need" one I think!

PS jamtart6, I like your idea of using different coloured texts for offers etc.

I tried to get the R&M foundation brush that someone said was really good with one of the £5 vouchers but was told the till said no, as it's for cosmetics only, not accessories. Did your till bleep and they did an over ride, or did it go through first thing. I might try it in another branch now I've read this.

btw I'm the person that wrote about the new P&P set, if no one has a link (I've not seen it on the site anywhere) I'll try and see if I can upload a digital photo of it on here. Don't know if that works but I'll have a go.

It was me that said the foundation brush is a lot better and less wasteful for putting foundation on.
I tried to get one the other day but till wouldn't have it, yet let me have the £5 i-brush for free. I rang CS and said it made no sense that it let you have some of the £5 eye brushes free, yet wouldn't let you have £5 off an £11 brush. They agreed and said to ask the SA to override the till with it as they had been having a lot of trouble with these new lot of vouchers.

I got the free gwp total to pay was £5.xx but I added some toothbrushes and got another voucher.

I dont know about any other mums out there; but this is always my scenario.

Screaming baby, me trying to quickly take a highlighter and gwp and another item without the No 7 lady catching me , and me pushing screaming baby fast towards the lift to go to the baby section , getting followed by security , pay downstairs, hold my goodies proudly on the way out with receipt in one hand, and have the beady security men watching me as if Ive just stolen them. It annoys me, but sometimes I do feel like Ive just stolen from them.

Sorry for being OT but I laughed out loud literally at that :D

Thanks Dollardog, will try tomorrow in Chester. Sometimes there's nothing you really want and you use these vouchers on whatever you can get, but I'd rather spend £6 on something I'd really use and that someone has recommended. I'll let you know how get one. May take the CS number with me, just in case!

Thanks feefeelabelle for quoting my post :D but I honestly think you'd have had a little bit (just a tiny bit mind) of a better response if you'd have posted a chat only thread.

Except it would have been moved out of the Grabbits section? ;)

passion8, dont you just have the option of changing the text colour when you type a message? ie. above the box you type in it says B for bold, I for italic etc. do you have a box that says A with a small arrow? can't you just change the colour there??

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A
