You say in your post about incompetence now what about the £25k you borrowed in total, what's that called :)

Lmfao , now remind me Fedz how much is it that Northern Rock had to borrow.
And NO this poll aint about my working class status,it's an open poll,

You state in a previous post there the class divide isnt getting bigger. Its a well documented fact that under the current Government that the lower paid pay a larger proportion of tax in relation to salary than the higher paid.
I'm speaking in context of the governement lending NR the billions as put to by setmefree :)

No I don't think lending NR the billions distances the gap between higher/lower class(es) :)

The amounts are irrelevant in an example, £25k to one person could feel like £50 billion when seen in context of the individual circumstances :)

Do you really think the government would have spent the billions wisely had it not lent it to NR - open your eyes :)

And dont you think that if Northern Rock had been wise in the first place, they wouldn't have had to go to the B OF E in the first place..
Banks are quick enough to dictate to the individuals about their circumstances and how they only have thereselves to blame when things go wrong, but when the boot is on the other foot they are the first to run for help..(so sad)

Yes agreed completely irrelevant, but when a person has such debts of £25,000 they don't or in 95% of the time cant turn to no one else, coz they are classed as a bad risk..so why should the rules be different for the banks..they got into their mess so it should be up to them to get their selves out of it as well.;)

Still doesn't detract from your own responsability as an individual.

That's what's wrong with people they live and act as though they have a God given right to borrow, borrow and borrow. Buy now pay later ...

If you want this type of lifestyle then you have to face the consequences when it fails ...

You could say that for NR as you say, yes I agree but, they have the backing of BoE. We on the other hand have the backing of nobody but, our own savings, investments hence why you should save over borrow and not live beyond your means ...

Does that mean I agree that the governement should bail us out if all fails. No. Reason being is our agreement is with the bank not the BoE.

If you don't like how banks operate then don't use them - you have a choice :)

    No need to apologize :)

Exactly, that's what the poll is about.confidence or no confidence ;)

I will however remember your remark
If you want out then get a tent and stay single and stop being so materialistic

    And here is mine
What goes around comes around (Karma)

It's quite funny when you look into it, N.R. shares drop, the Government makes an announcement that things are changing, shares go back up,then a week later back down.government steps back in with another suggestion and the shares go back up,a week later back down again, eventually the public will see through it.
Much the same as the stock exchange, all shares fall ,U.S. drops it's rate shares rise, confidence once again fails and shares fall again, so in response U.S. drops rate again, how long will it last this time.:D
