74 votes in nearly 3 weeks is hardly a killer response is it ;)

The No votes has been sadly limping and lagging behind Yes since the start ;)

    Even at 60 (No) - 40 (Yes) it'd only be 10% over a 50/50 split :rolleyes2

1 (one) bank out of how many shattered your confidence

Yes spiraling bank charges can be crippleing but, in all honesty how is it the banks fault your single mother friend eg: kept going unautherised overdrawn (spending more than you have), failed DDs (rather than cancel them to avoid charges) ...etc.

If you can't run a bank account as you agreed then you shouldn't have one.

And if a Bank can't run it's business without having to use the tax payers money to bail it out or be offered secret deals to bail it out, then it shouldn't be a bank in the first place.

As for your remark about my friend is responsible and could be to overspending, i think that YOU should realise that many wife's ,partners and children have lost their loved one's through a needlless war.

I'm surprised you've persivered and got this far in the first place as all you've managed throughout is to go around in circles

You bow out, your point well and truely made and the world put to rights :rolleyes2

Oh dear Fedz with remarks like that i just have to come back.

The new boss of Northern Rock says all of the plans to save the bank carry risks and cannot guarantee success.

    (That's ok it's only tax payer's money)

With all the trouble surrounding NR new boss Ron Sandler must be over the moon to be given the obscene salary of £90,000 a MONTH. But what the hell, its just taxpayers money after all.

I have absolutely zero sympathy for the NR share-holders. You had your chance to get out, but no, you thought it'll be ok, someone else will buy the company and I'll make more money. You reap what you sow, you money-grabbing parasites.

It's exactly like gambling on the horses, don't bet what you can't afford to lose. Why should my taxes bail you out.....if you don't know how it works then you're too stupid to own shares and deserve all you get which, in this case, I hope is nothing.

Is it the right move ? NO. But it is probably the only move now that the government has put itself so far into a corner.

But to all those people saying it's not the governments fault. IT IS. They made the regulations, they control the rules as to how the people monitor banks. They have made the changes in the last few terms to allow this situation to happen. And Brown has been around throughout.

So please let's not forget just how involved in this total mess this inept government is

Didn't you find it satisfying that the government can put up £55 billion to prop up just one bank, then as it's still ailing, nationalise it then re-sell it back when the market picks up :)
It has to get the EU go-ahead first before it can do it but, I find it re-assuring the government is prepared to stop at nothing to secure the banks :)

Kind of makes you proud to be British doesn't it ;)

setmefree you hold so much anger for shareholders. Does this extend to all shareholders in any company?

Don't spoil me often do you setmefree - I feel special being at the forefront of your attention ;)

Yes I feel like an in-patient sometimes, I work such long hours - my own fault as it's overtime and bank shifts outside my contracted hours - I enjoy my job with what most people see as the low-life of society ...

Now why would people class the less fortunate as low life society, we are all equal in this life ;) regardless of circumstances..

I'm glad i make you feel special Fedz, i do try to please
