Thanks guys.
My DD does eat veggies she loves them like me and I do cook her things that I don't like. I hate fish but she loves it especially fish in butter sauce. So nutritionally she has a better diet than we do probably. I would never pass my dislikes onto her I let her decide what she does and doesn't like. (Sorry if this sounds narky it's not meant to be I do appreciate all advice)
I know I should try things that I don't like but most things are the textures that I hate eg I hate mushrooms as they are squeaky that is never going to change.
I will have a look at Black saturns post and see if I can grab any ideas.
Thanks again-Sweety:wall: Only Dead Fish Go With The Flow!!!

If this has been asked before please merge me BGs.
I'm on a bit of an economy drive after an indulgent holiday and need some mucho cheapo recipes. The twins and I will eat almost anything and so will OH except (wait for it) pasta, rice and couscous, so basically anything which stretches a meal out. If I make spag bol he only eats a huge bowl of sauce.
He also won't eat offal which is cheap and would happily live on rubbish which, while cheap, is not something I will feed the kids.
I've come up with corned beef hash, and casseroles with spuds but it doesn't seem right eating all that stodge in the summer.
Any ideas??? :A0 -
I would give him a jacket potato with everything. Can fill it with bolognaise, chilli, curry etc. Or let him have them with a big crusty roll.

do something with boiled spuds (or mash) one night then the next night fry up the leftover spuds sliced - amazing - yum and only oone bg load of spuds to peel.
Pizza ? With homemade pizza dough of course.
Will he eat noodles?
Homemade burgers in a bap with salad/veg/sweetcorn.
My OH is the same, except he will eat the pasts and the rice but hates the HM chilli/spag bol/curry/stew. All he wants is burgers  (fake meat ines as we are veggie)Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

Thanks guys. I do try baked spuds but can't do it everynight. He's not fussed on noodles and will only eat pizza if the topping is pretty impressive.
I like the idea of the crusty roll though. If all else fails I may shove it where the sun don't shine.

A filling summer meal i make is roast summer style veg with some chicken. I add baby potatoes, mixed colour peppers, red onion, garlic cloves, mushrooms, courgette, butternut squash etc. Cut them all chunky and drizzle in olive oil and black pepper. Roast in the oven on high heat. Serve with warm crusty bread. The vegetables can be changed to suit your budget and season.

I have a friend who her and her OH are veggie, and he also doesn't eat rice or anything with eggs ie no pasta or noodles. I'm trying to think twhat they do! I think they have a lot of pizza and potato type thingds as I mentioned before.
They also have stey type things with dumplings and bread as others have mentioned. Nightmare if you ask me! Good luck!Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

Thanks Abeccer.:A
That's one of my faves but I'd forgotten all about it. I just think it seems much easier to eat cheaply in the winter with stews etc.
My salad veg are all ripening well and my beans, peas and corn will be ready soon so that will cut costs a bit.0 -
I will be moving soon and plan to grow a few of my own veg so will be probably turning to you for advice. It appeals to me so much to go into the garden and pick our tea. The kids will love it as well and can't wait as it is one of the activities we have planned for the school hols. My two year old will probably eat all the seeds though!!!

I'd thoroughly recommend it and you can do alot in a small space or even a few pots. The greenfingered board is a mine of information and I'm learning new things all the time.0
