My son is a pain in the proverbial.
He eats peperoni slices. Peperoni pizzas only the very thin fresh ones. Chocolate puddings in cartons (like yoghurt) Crunch corners but only vanilla ones. Milk shakes. Coke (but only the real stuff) Mars bars, snickers, kit kats and some other biscuits. Flap jacks, only if right texture and taste, Nestle choc balls, no imitations though. Bacon. Steak. Got to be cooked just right though. tomato soup but only heinz. Eggy bread. French Bread and Warburtons bread, Pancakes. He eats no fruit or veg not even potatoes unless they are very thin chips like McDonalds.
He is a pain. I find food thrown in the bin all the time. He Used to eat fish until when he was about 8 he discovered that it was actually 'fish' yes the ones that swim. Prior to that I don't know what he thought! He is 18 now. Works in a food warehouse. Saw some chicken last week that the butcher said was cancerous. I gave him a lovely chicken fillet with spices that he likes. He threw it away as now he can't have chicken, since he saw what he saw. (must admit it put me off a bit!) He is as thin as a rake but strong and pretty healthy. Runs around all the time when he is not in bed that is,lol! Sadly he smokes(the fool) which I guess stops the hunger. I don't know what to do with him.Keep on trucking!0 -
My boyfriend used to be quite fussy.
He used to eated only processed food - meat was burgers, chicken burgers, sausages, pasties, sausage roll with either baked potato or chips (deep fried) and veg was either baked beans or mushy peas. He wouldn't eat any other veg, rice, pasta (he would only have if it was spaghetti bolanase) or cheese, smell of garlic would make him sick.
I went along with this for a bit then thought I can't do this anymore - it's making me ill, so I bought a health grill and told him he could cook his own tea and I'd make my mine - I'd have proper food and he'd have the same boring stuff. After a while he asked to try some of mine, so I'd give him a little bit and most of the time he liked it, and he'd have some the next time I made it.
It took years but he now eats near enough all veg (still picks out peppers and mushrooms sometimes), pizza as long as it doesn't have too much cheese on, pasta, curry (wouldn't touch anything foreign before) and only rarely has burgers etc as they now give him stomach ache!! even has garlic now
This works with children aswell - used to work in a nursery and you'd have something new and most of them would say I don't want any - I'd say I'll just give you a tiny bit, it won't touch anything else, try it and if you don't like it you don't have to eat it. I'd put a teaspoonfull on their plate and most of the time they'd at least try it, and half of the time they'd ask for more. Secret is to not make a big deal of it, don't try and force them, just give them a little bit and if they do try it even if they say they don't like it, praise them for trying. Also helps seeing other people eating the food without fuss (either mum/dad or other children)0 -
My girlfriend was like this. I caught her as she was doing A levels and going to uni - so lots of change in her life anyway.
I kept cooking and now she eats most things - she still doesn't like Chinese, but I suppose I can forgive her.
Food was involved in lots of arguments, telling her to "grow up", "stop bloody whining", "ungrateful little bint", etc, etc. I think I won most of them. (I'm not an evil basta, honest)
She still chunters all the time though - I think that's just a woman thing0 -
just to let you guys know im a fussy eater too..... and it frustrates the hell out of me. I want to like things i just dont
whereas my bf WENDLE will eat anything. Some people take it for granted liking things, i could go to a restaurant and have to eat the same thing because by default i dont like anything else.

He sounds like my dad, NO veg (except processed peas), NO pasta or tomatoey sauces and after 25yrs my mums given up trying....some things just aren't worth the fight! if he really doesn't like them like my dad then he's probably never going to so just stick with what he does like!!!Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts0

Had to laugh when I read the 'peas out of a tin' as this is the only green thing my husband eats too what the hecks that all about :rotfl: .. If I make stew I have to make two pots one with beef , onions carrots and potatoes and the other with loads of other stuff for myself , if he finds one bit of pearl barley in his stew thats it he won't touch it...... good job I love him :rotfl:#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Ok im such a fussy eater and i always have been from the age of ten.
Ok i dont eat no processed meats but i do eat Lean ham, lean bacon , chicken breasts and diced beef that i cut the good bits off lol.

how about making a layered gratin -style pie?
cut thin slices of potatoes and meat of your choice and layer them in a shallow dish, dot with butter and garlic, and grated cheese.
cook in over.
