    Dear SKY
You have provided a very patronising response to what turned out to be a National problem which is unforgivable for such a huge organisation.

You were fully aware of the problems you were causing but chose to ride roughshod over your customers (now ex customers).

Large organisations like SKY are very quick to quote terms and conditions to the customer when they feel the need so I am quoting your terms and conditions when I state that "You will write to us shortly before the 6 month period expires to offer the option to continue via subscription or just receive the standard freeview channels." According to members on this forum alone, you didn't write to anybody assuming we were all stupid enough to allow you to take away our hard earned money. The channels left to freeview come far short of the actually freeview channels available to non SKY customers. If we wish to receive these FREE to view channels through your SKYbox I was advised by your Customer "Care" Team there is an additional payment of £20 to be paid.

It doesn't sound like good "customer service" to me and I would question why your staffs weren't properly briefed about this deal in the first instance. Maybe you didn't feel there was a need

Ha! You've got a great sense of humour Sky i'll give you that.

    SIGN UP FOR YOUR SERVICES???????

You really do think your customers are complete morons don't you? Where's the compensation for treating people like dirt, making people, especially those that can't defend themselves, worry themselves silly about whether you're going to pursue them for MONEY THEY DON'T OWE?

Why didn't you issue an apology sooner? The list of unanswered questions goes on. I wish for your downfall, and soon. You epitomise everything bad about corporations that are far too big for their boots, and completely disgust me.

    Hello MoneySavers...

Our Pay Once Watch Forever products are designed for people who want to try Sky for a limited period while enjoying on-going access to free-to-air channels.

We would like to apologise for billing errors for some customers who purchased our £75 2-Mix for 6 Months product.

This was a trial offer which ended on 15th November 2007. We got a much stronger response than expected which meant that when we did identify an issue with billing, we weren’t able to resolve the issue for some accounts in time.

As soon as we became aware of this, we set up a dedicated team to individually check all affected accounts – crediting or refunding accounts as appropriate. This review has now been completed. We've also rebriefed our contact centres.

Going forward, weve launched a replacement product with simplified terms and conditions called 4 Mix for Four Months. We do require bank details to allow people to order pay-per-view movies and billing will automatically be triggered after the prepaid period unless customers give us one month’s notice of their intention to leave Sky. Our sales advisers and retail partners have been trained to explain the new process very clearly when people sign up with us.

If you would like to discuss your account, please don't hesitate to email us through our Sky.com site or call us on 08442 41 41 41.

    Cheers

    Sky Team

:j I'll bump this up because I asked for compensation following my many phone calls letters & inconveniences, but in typical SKY "GOOD CUSTOMER CARE" they said they don't give compensation for these errors. So how about it SKY.... time to give some payback use your influence here to show you "DO CARE"

It's probably because they can't cope with the problems that they have initiated by not sorting their packages out in the first place.
It's interesting to note that the revised 4 month package clearly puts the onus on the customer to cancel, but as it's entitled Pay Once View Forever why do they need to take bank details and why should the customer have to cancel a pay once package if we want to buy add ons the facility is there,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, It contradicts the package:rolleyes: but that's SKY for you.

IMO LEAVE THE PAY ONCE VIEW FOREVER PACKAGE WHERE IT BELONGS..... UP IN THE SKY:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just in case Skyteam did not see this!
  • Sure the f***'d up, and and which of us hasn't had a problem with them some time, but this kind of abuse is gonna put them off from posting here. Do we want that? Isn't the whole point that they read and respond? I just wish more companies did.

Apart from perhaps "shouting" there is no abuse, plenty of frustration yes, but no abuse.

You are correct that the whole point is that Sky read and respond - but the fact is that until very recently they have not done so, which is what has lead to this thread.

Reading this and other associated threads you will see that any response from Sky has been too little too late for most of us hence the continued posts.
