We are HA tenents and rang them anonymously and they have no problems as long as we are upto date with the rent.

  • I completely understand BH, this house has been empty for a good many months now. It needs a lot of work doing to it, the landlord told us he hadn't done anything to it as there was no money coming in from rent to fund repairs. He has also said that he doesn't get much time to do much either as he works 12 hours a day, so we said that we would do the work if he provided the materials. His son was the last one to live in the house with a couple of friends and he did start modernising and doing repairs but the friends fell out and subsequently moved out, so the rent stopped coming in. It has been empty ever since.
  • my only concern bluebell is to make sure the landlord has had the boiler and electrics checked.... a house thats a bit rundown is one thing to take on but you need to be safe!

He has a legal obligation to provide a CP12 certificate to proove the gas appliances have been checked out, they dont cost much so at the very least make sure you see a copy of it.

    Good luck!

Hi baby, yes he's told us he needs to do a gas check and it's going through chase independent so he's gotta do it by the book, just hope we pass the credit check
  • oooh thats good, some LL are a little bit more "relaxed" about these checks... going through an agency is added security. Fingers crossed for the Credit check - let us know how you get on x
