Business Bank Account - Declined

I know it's so strange!

I asked them about opening an Asset Reserve Cheque Account, which is similar to the Treasurers Account except you get a cheque book and you need £5000 as an initial deposit.....surprise surprise...they do not know anything about it!

Treasurers account opened but you can only view it online (Internet Banking) in Enquiry Mode only meaning that to do any transactions, you have to go into a branch. Arrrggghhhh!

I set up as a sole trader in October 07 and was worried I'd get declined for a Business Bank Account, but the local business centre I sued for registering with Inland Revenue etc. have the Business Manager from Lloyds TSB round one day a week and they will set you up an account just for asking, with no credit checks (thank god in my case!).

If you don't get set up with anyone else, or if anyone else reading this is in the position I was in give your local Lloyds TSB Business Manager a call and check if they are still doing this. :-)

I can say that I was given an account by Lloyds too....!

Hi there guys and WTFUK would love to hear what you did and what accounts you ended up with.

I am a limited company which from what I can gether is where all the problems start (NO LIABILITY) so I have been turned down for 2 accounts and am now at whits end I DESPERATELY need an account as ALL of my customers pay deposits by check to the company name! and then the balance also!

I will try Halifax Treasurers account and see how I get on!

but would really respect some direction on this

Hi,
Lloyds TSB will sometimes consider a LTD but otherwise go with the treasurers account with halifax. They only need ID and company info to open an account. The most difficult part is geting counter staff to open it as sometimes they don;t know about the account.

Ok so if I go for a treasurers account what can I take, I only have a digital incorp certificate that I could print off, but do they want anything else ID isnt a problem??
