I have to finish for this month because I am going to mum and dads for a few days as they have been in hospital.
So PLEASE add me to next months challenge. Many Thanks:DMy finances are work in progress.Normal veiwing will resume shortly0 -
Wigglebeena, I might be totally wrong about this, but as far as I know so far, none of the debit cards have been making charges, but because credit cards work differently there is always the chance that they might charge you. Have you tried it with Switch/Maestro?
I thought about getting one of those prepaid debit cards that you see advertised, just for the sake of having another one to use! And they don't do credit checks either! But of course that could be seen as dishonest, and I'd never do anything dodgy!!!
SC - ouch!!!
I think that's right pandapaws debit cards don't charge but credit cards do.
If you want a prepay card splash plastic pay £10 through quidco. I think that is a prepay cardHoping to stick to the challenge this year!!

No they didn't but I guess I should have read the small print. Have not had any charges from Barclays so far - credit card only, won't use debit onlineNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -

MSN is a live chat portal where you can chat to people you are "friends" with in real time. You can google it and sign up for free... go on a be devil!
Other than that - get ready with your pertinent questions!
EDIT: reading PandaPaws above it would be great to have someone else there! perhaps this could be an "intro" and then look for some real bets etc one weekend soon?I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0 -
Hi, I think credit cards have charges as they treat payments to gambling sites as a cash advance. I only use a debit card and haven't had a problem.

I have only used my debit card on all the bingo sites and had no charges. I remember noticing on one of the sites that it did point out that credit cards carried charges. Its weird how some of the credit cards seem to be making moral judgements about gambing - most credit card companies don't seem to have any morals apart from 'make as much money as we can from the paying customer'.
Re MSN - I am well over 37 and know what it is! I used to use it but it kept causing my 'puter to crash out of tinternet - I'll sign up again and hope it works. If I crash out on Wednesday I can blame MSN when it might, in reality, be my brain short-circuiting trying to get to grips with the Matched Betting. I've read it through a couple of times today and its just words, all meaningless!
Edit - to Welshgirl - that's a yes please for Wednesday!0 -

but then again, isn't it interesting how their 'moral judgements' all seem to be in their own economic interest?
based on my financial history there's no way they can possibly make a case for believing I'm in danger of a gambling addiction...
I'm beginning to think Martin's right about Smile...0 -

Gawdbless, I know you're right really. It's just Smile I'm brassed off with when I properly think about it. Anyhoo I'll stop whingeing now and do something about it!0 -

I recently ordered up a prepay card, only because I got cashback from one of the cashback sites for doing it! I had thought it might be good for safer internet transactions, as there would be a limited amount of money on it so it wouldn't be worth hacking into. When it came there was a list of fees - a fee to put money onto it, (- £3.50 I think!) and another fee every time you used it as a debit card! I just threw it away in crossness  so can't even remember which one it was!
Edit - I've now found a list of fees for Splash plastic. Some things are FREE!!!!!! You would have to load it with money just to pay for its own existence never mind about actually using it to pay for things! I've copied and pasted it below:
Card Fee £5.00
Annual Account Maintenance Fee £4.95 (Payable at first top up)
Monthly Management Fee FREE
Phone / Internet Balance Enquiry FREE
Transaction Fee 2.5%
ATM Withdrawal Fee £1.50 (+ 2% for withdrawals over £50)
Wage transfer to card FREE
Bank account transfer to card FREE
Top Up Fee (Post Office® or PayPoint) 30p per £10.00
Top Up Fee (Credit/Debit cards) 2.5% (Min £1.50 fee)0 -
