I'm soooooooooo annoyed today! I was at Uni all day, so had to put £5 parking ticket on my car, I went back to my car at lunch time to drop off a parcel, and the ticket must have blown off of my car, when I went back at 5pm I had a b****y parking ticket - £60!!! Oh if I pay it within 14 days I only have to pay £30!! I cried for about an hour! So I wrote a letter of complaint to the council as soon as I got home - I wanted to phone but the part-timers finish at 4.30pm!
Sorry I know it's off topic but I just feel so annoyed, I've been doing so well this month with the challenge!

I think parking tickets are one of the most annoying things is the world, I'm sure they account for most suicides in this country. My mum ( a very hard up single Mum at the time) and I visited Newcastle when my nephew was born and read the parking sign wrong and got a ticket and we were gutted as the trip had already cost more than we could afford but we were in the wrong so Mum paid up. Then when we returned home we received in the post another parking ticket from Newcastle for when we weren't even there but we could not prove we weren't there so ha dto pay that too we were gutted.
Also my OHs Grandma at 81 set the clock wrong on her parking disc by mistake and got a ticket, she wrote explaining it was a mistake as she was rushing to visit her husband at his home and apologised saying that at 80 she occasionally made mistakes they said tough pay £60 . Thats almost a whole weeks pension its shocking :eek::eek:.
So in case you haven't noticed I feel for you and can't say i blame you crying I would have done the same, especially when you have worked so hard to earnt the "Extra" money, and if anyone wants to moan about this being off topic then:p:p:p:p, this thread is about making money but supporting each other too !!!!!!!!!
Batgirl
PS Sorry for the rant don't really know where it came from, have been in a great mood all day but really feel about this :rotfl:May 2015 £10 a day currently £2080 -
I had this happen to me in a normal car park - I felt the same. I emailed the council but they would not back down. The only way I could find to get something positive from it, or at least get the £30 back, was to tell myself I must not use a pay car park for the next 20 times I need to park in that town. So every time I go there I park for free - its a test of ingenuity! I've only done 9 free parks so far, but at least I am gradually getting my money back and I feel I am doing SOMETHING about it - I think it reduces you to tears because you feel so powerless to change that awful £30 loss. I felt better once I had hatched my 'plan' and started putting it into action!
I hope this helps a bit.
This is much more proactive compared to my post so please cross Assets name out from the post and put mine instead because I want to pretend I thought of this, so if there are any board monitors around please make me look better and change our names pleaseMay 2015 £10 a day currently £2080 -
Thanks for that Asset and Batgirl, I know I'll have to pay it, it's just so frustrating, I think coucils are evil - lol
. I am going to refuse to use that car park again - I may even take the bus if I'm going for a full day, it's about £1.10 each way and I never even thought of this before!! That would save me money!!!!! I have to take my car on other days so I can get to and from my work, so I'll just have to try to find somewhere free to park.....
In fact I could even walk, it's only a few miles....
If I walk I could save ££££'s and shed lbs,lbs,lbs:D0 -

There you go! You must be feeling better already! And I agree the council shouldn't get any more of your money - that's why I feel better parking for free. Taking the bus more often will save you petrol as well, and maybe some stress...... Walking is even better! In a few months time you may look back on what started off as a bad experience as a liberating one!
PS - I would urge you to bite the bullet and pay the fine straightaway before it turns into £60!0 -
Have just spent a frustrating 30 minutes trying to get onto msn, thought I'd managed it, got an email confirmation from them, sent the link.... all looking good, then have tried to get in and the page cannot be displayed. Feel like my MB career has fallen at the first fence !!!, doesn't bode well. If I don't get it sorted by tomorrow, wont be from lack of enthusiasm, shame about techie cells, sadly short of some of those! Sorry to hear about the car park ticket fiasco - I would have cried like a baby - soooo annoying, never mind, onwards and upwards, hope you are feeling a bit better - you've got lots of friends here for support.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Thanks for all your help and encouragement! I am feeling much more positive, my work pays my parking and petrol thankfully but I'll have to pay the fine:( Hey it could have been worse, when I phoned my OH in a state he thought something had happened to one of the dogs or I had written the car off:rolleyes: RIght now I need to get into money making mode again:rotfl:0 -

Catwoman, total sympathy for the parking business. If you actually had the ticket and it had just fallen off the windscreen, then usually you can send it off to the council as proof that you had paid, as it's not your fault their stickers aren't strong enough!
I remember when I used to live in Bournemouth, a mate and I met in town and both parked in the same car park one day. She didn't have any change on her though, so chanced it and didn't pay & display. Sure enough, she got a parking ticket. But because I had one valid for the same period, she sent mine off saying it had slipped off onto the dash and the traffic warden must have missed it, and the fine was cancelled!!! Is there anyone else from uni who'd have been in the same car park as you today that you can 'borrow' the ticket from if you can't find your own?! (I'm going to get a reputation as a right scammer!)0
