This is a good thought - today I didn't spend on that Ferrari I've always wanted, because of MSE, therefore I've 'saved' thousands of pounds! Soon I'll be a millionaire by not buying expensive things!

Oi! :rotfl: Nooooooo! :rotfl: :p Things that you would've spent before mse!!!!

Like, yesterday, when I come back late from London, after 11pm, I always used to get a taxi. I don't now, I walk home, thats a tenner.

There was another little wrinkle, but I'm not going to include that, I'm too embarrassed... :o:o

*Will* include a bingo win earlier on this morning - £20.58 - and 15p definite clicks on pigsback. Another £1.35 to pay out on pigsback if it tracks, so a total today of £20.73. Got turned down for all the surveys! They don't want me any more, I'm too old, or don't buy the right stuff :D

Has anyone actually won anything on the £1 sites? I did about 7 or 8 but gave up on them cos it took longer to sign up than it did to play through your quid!

If you read back not too far I did do a post to say I'd won on two £1 sites and I said what they were.........it was Thursday or Friday of this week..... if you use Roboform it doesn't take too long to sign up

OK I was being silly BUT its a difficult question. For instance I KNOW I save money by shopping at Asda and not Tesco - Tesco also costs me a bit more in petrol to get to. But not using Tesco means I don't get Tesco Loyalty vouchers - instead I save money at Asda as part of their lower prices because they don't have a loyalty card. So I could say I'm saving '£x' a week by shopping at Asda - but its sort-of 'virtual' money. I think your taxi money is definitely a 'make money saving' though because you've chosen it as a money-saving measure. I think changing to making your own sandwiches for work instead of buying them out is also a 'saving', but when it becomes a normal habit it would be hard to know how long to keep recording it as money saved.

I think in the end it doesn't matter too much how you record it as long as you know you have definitely saved money. I'm going out to buy the Ferrari now, and then I'll return it next week for a massive moneysaving total! I believe the Americans call shopping and then taking it back 'unshopping'. :rotfl:
  • Karmacat, I'd definitley count the money saved from not getting a taxi!

  • I've won about £45 on £1 sites - had a flurry about 15 sites in and won on 2 or 3... then nothing...
Finished the list with no luck and BF "had a go" about 20 sites in and nothing there... will save the rest for March.

I personally am not including Tescos as I have alot!!!!

RE Matched betting - I am not an expert but I know what to do, did a load last year and ran out of steam... however have been motivated back into it by the challenges..

Placed my first bets today and yesterday - HOPEFULLY they are right :) I will try and help withany queries but unfortunately the best advice is to go to the Gambling Introductory Board and read, read, read and read again...

It is quite complicated to get your head round but there are very helpful people (stick to the newbie thread tho, they don't like clutter from random question threads!!!) and once you have got it, you can make good money. It's not as easy as Bingo though, and although risk free you really have to understand it not to make silly mistakes!!

Sorry about the ramble, in short I will try to help but read read read! Well done all so far - some very impressive totals!

To be serious for a bit, you're right, thats a really interesting question. I've walked back from that station Friday night and Saturday night, and I'll just count the Friday night, actually - because its become normal, after work, but Saturday night I was really suffering from arthritis in my right foot (well, I'm older than most of you lot!) and it really hurt. So it was a very conscious decision to do it, when I got *on* the train, I was fully intending to take a taxi, and then I just couldn't do it.

So. While you have the Ferrarri, will you give me a drive of it? You can borrow my helicopter? Please?
