  • I wasn't trying to be hostile (hope did not come across this way) but you did tell OP to go for a review and I.R if necessary even though the info given suggests they wouldn't qualify for a CCG to begin with. I agree that people should check their entitlements fully but lots of people may still believe they're entitled to something (hearsay, misinformation, not checking rules etc)when actually they aren't because they simply don't meet the criteria. If they don't then no amount of reviews and applications is going to work. I suppose my point was more a general one than anything else.

Could you not put up an add in local shops WANTED tumble dryer? freecycle or add trader someone I know got one from add trader for £15 it was an old one but did the trick! Hang cloths on coat hangers from doors/curtain poles, or any where possible, heat rises & mine dries quick!

Along with the AD for a Tumble dryer you could mention you are looking for carpets too.
  • No, there was no suggestion of hostility at all ! To be honest, the information given by the OP didn't mention any of the stuff I would normally expect to see to consider making a CCG award. However, that is quite often the case on CCG application forms and only when the case is looked at in greater depth and detail either by a reviewing officer or by IRS, does the true picture emerge of that person's circumstances. Hence my suggestion to take advantage of the appeals process.

Extremely doubtful.Tumble driers are classed as luxury items (even with a disabled person at home)

a luxury many dont have!!...i have to use 2 clothes airers and hang things over the doors...not ideal but dont have any other option......i think OPs best bet is a social fund loan.
