3 Broadband Lite

I am about to leave Orange after an 18 month contract. The reason I am leaving is that I now need a data package of at least 1GB per month and Orange can’t do that for anything less than silly money.
I have unlocked my M3100 supplied by Orange, updated the ROM to WM6, I have tested it on both T-Mobile and 3 and it works fine on both networks. In addition to using the phone for mail and web browsing, I want to connect it to my Laptop and use it as a USB modem. Again I have successfully tested this on both of the above networks.
To use 3 with my laptop, I believe I need Broadband Lite, not Internet Max as the latter does not allow use with a laptop. The problem is, when taking out a contract on their website, only Internet Max is shown as an optional add on.
Does anyone know if it is possible for me to, take out a 300 / 300 mix and match contract at £15/ month and then to add or activate Broadband Lite at an additional £10/ month. I then intend to sell the phone as I don’t need it. If I select Broadband Lite on their website, it tries to force me into buying a USB modem for £60 odd pounds. And for that I don't think that you can even use the supplied SIM in your phone, so I would then have to take out another contract for use in my existing phone.
Sorry to waffle on............

3 - take the contract then when you recieve phone you go to my3 on web or handset and activate it, see what Orange retentions offer you to stay.....Racoon 35 800 x mins 100 txt & 3000 landline minutes 18 months no handset £20 my mate got it for......thats £15 off a month, infact he was offered £15 off any £35 plan

3's mix n match is not a good deal if you text a fair bit, T-mobile Flext works out better value, but try orange disconnections - they have ALL the power

i'd think again of using your M3100 as a modem, battery life is soon wiped & you are left with no battery for your calls/texts

If your going to use 3 for broadband lite, buy a Skypephone £49.99 top up ten pound and you get free Skype & msn messenger for the month on the handset & buy broadband lite off that £10 top up - skype, msn & modem in 1 + its like a little baby compared to monster M3100 ;)

the Skypephone is a small little wonder and you wont notice carrying it, also consider, 700 units for calls/txts is available on 3 payg for £21.00 a month

whats your average bill, mins & texts usage on Orange ?
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

You could just buy a 3 prepay sim with £10 of credit for £9.99 on their website, and £4 Quidco. Then just buy the 1GB addon for £10 on a monthly basis.

I think they also give you £10 credit if you port your number in to 3 prepay ;)

So is it possible to get a 3 pay as you go skypephone for £49.99 (go through quidco for extra) then buy the £9.99 sim seperately (again through quidco) and then use the £10 credit on the phone to get broadband lite for 30 days?

If this is so, would i be able to use the skyphone as modem (similar to their £99.99 usb dongle modems) to connect to a laptop (bluetooth or a usb cable) to browse the internet on the laptop?

as long as you activate the BB in my3 on the web browser on the phone b4 connecting to net via mobile yes, i used to use a cable as bat life is killed by bluetooth on any phone

you get a sim with Skypephone already, and your first 30 days skype & msn are free as a grace period

£10 extra for porting a number into 3 here http://www.three.co.uk/personal/price_plans_/pay_as_you_go_/keep_your_number.omp

USB modem on the Three website at the moment is free on all packages (plus Quidco for cashback).

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question!

What is the difference between X Series Silver and Internet Max? Both are a fiver a month and I can’t see the advantage of one over the other.

    Thanks
