Dirty Toilets.

Options
Few days ago I and my hubby went to take my children to well known pub restaurant (and not a burger king or macdonalds) Anyway reguardless of where it is, isn't the issue.
What is, (before seating to order the food) is the fact that when I took my daughter to the loo as my husband did our sons, the toilets we're filthy the floor looked dusty-dirty if that makes sence? there was bits of loo roll alover the floor, the sink looked like they hadnt been touched in days dried soap ect, the toilets them selfs were not much better with limescale caked and I do mean caked in the bottom of the loo. (Lets put it this way it was almost lunch time and if those loos had been clean even off the night befoe I would my own hat.) Needless to say I or my daughter did not use the toilets and walked out, according to hubby the mens loos were not much better!!!.

I've been thinking about it all today and really I wondered whether it would be worth complaining to the manager? or someone higher I dont know....I wouldnt normaly complain about any thing, but what worrys me is if the loos are that dirty how clean or the kitchens?
Grocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03
Other spends (Clothes Luxuries etc)£11.97 + £1.19 + £7.36 + £69.00 + £38.50 + £5.50 + £23.00 +£2.00 = £158.52:shocked::sad:

I would definitely complain (in writing) to the manager, and copy to the chain's HO. That sounds disgusting, and I certainly would have done the same as you and walked out.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

    Who made such a mess?

    Answer: the general public.

Do the general public have access to the kitchens?

    Answer: no.

Try not to blame companies who can't monitor their loos 24/7 for the activities of chavs.

At my work, the girlies are always complaining about how disgusting the loos are...........and I assumed the blokes loos would be the nasty ones

  • I'm a mystery shopper, and can tell you that pub chains are regularly judged on how clean their loos are. If you find a dirty loo, have a look around the walls for a checklist and see if it is up to date - if you are going to write to complain, this will be invaluable extra information.

Having said that, and assuming the checklist is up to date, it is always possible that the last customer caused all this mess. Your first port of call should be to report a messy loo to the staff behind the counter, who should remedy it immediately.

I had an EXTREMELY nasty experience whilst mystery shopping this week, where I found (by stepping in it) that a previous visitor had put a very nasty present on the floor. It turned my stomach, but I reported it to staff, who cleaned it up immediately.

  • a large group of us went out to a restaurant in shepherds bush a year or so ago and they (without saying before i may add) added themselves a tip.... which my mother then refused on behalf of the whole group to pay because their toilets where a bloody state! (and also the fact that half the party had gone leaving only the correct amount for the meal due to not wanting to tip)

    That is just ridiculous.
It is the companies responsibility to check the toilets are clean.
Nobody is asking them to check 24/7 but popping in once a hour to make sure no-one has taken a dump on the floor is not unreasonable.

I went to a Harvester a few weeks ago in Wooburn Green, near Bucks and it was absoloutly filthy.

Food all over the floor, seats and tables, dirty glasses and plates everywhere. 4 times we asked for it to be cleared, waiting for 25 minutes before giving up and walking out, as it was 90 minutes wait for dinner

Not that easy if one person on holiday and 2 others have phoned in sick and your left trying to run a fast food restaurant with screaming customers all wanting you to only serve them and cook food. Not everythings as simple as you think it is.
