Thanks, I've been a bit reluctant to use e-bay has I've not had that much success, but maybe I will try again. DD2 has been given mountains of baby clothes and there's lots of girls clothes (she's since discoved it's a boy) so might try selling them as bundles there's about 5or6 boxes lol. Have some clothes from DD3 too, was gonna car boot them but it's too cold yet:p
Also have some books to put on Amazon too but they prob won't sell immediately.

I should really just get on with it shouldn't I? I've been here for 2 an half hours+ an was only coming on for a quick look, lol.

I've paid another £100 off MBNA today so that's £433 in total, not bad.

I notice you're from Cheshire, I used to live in Cheshire, where abouts are you (if you don't mind me askin?)

Hi, I'm from Chester... (born and bred) Although me and my family are moving in the next few weeks to North Wales, You?

Ok, Have received wages today and checked my outgoings in HSBC. I have surplus of £183.48.
£60 is already earmarked towards DS1s 21st birthday prezzie. I'm thinking that I'll put £100 on MBNA card, but then will have just over £20 contingency for the month. What d'ya think?
That would mean I'd got balance down to £304.86 which isn't bad I think!

And then should I do transfer now or wait a couple of weeks and see if I can clear it completely - got some stuff I can e-bay that might raise enough.

i think offer ends at the end of Feb and the 0.9% rate lasts until Oct.

    Hi again,

Well e-bay wasn't very successful so am giving up on that!! I managed to get balance on MBNA down to £377 and have just transfered £2980 from HSBC.

I also had to fork out for roof repairs so wrote cc cheque (same as balance transfer rate) for £367.00, which means MBNA is up to it's limit now.

I didn't use the £100 excess from my wages towards the MBNA balance as I had a few bits n bobs to pay for and thought I might as well sort them whilst I had a bit of money!!
DD's baby arrived too so I've been spending a bit more than I planned anyway! Toby Daniel was born 4th Feb at 3.19am weighing 8lbs 9oz and I'm loving having a baby in the house again:D despite the mess and sleepless nights!

I think I'm still on track for grocery challenge, have to check up on that.

I've also joined the DFW Xmas 2008 for Free challenge and am busy saving points, etc towards Xmas 2008. Let's see if I can do that too...
(DS2 has already put in a request for xbox 360 though - any idea where
I might get one for free, lol!)

    Hi again,

Not been around for a while as computer died!! All better now tho:D
Well I'm still plodding on. Not managed to 'earn' any extra money this month but have been doing more surveys so am accumulating points for my Christmas challenge.
Had some money off and points coupons for Boots so have splashed out a bit and got a couple of things to put away for Xmas stocking fillers plus the No7 free gift which is going to mum for Mothers Day.
I've just received my clubcard vouchers for this month and now have enough for a week away in summer hols with Haven, YAY:j We're all going, baby too!!
Have to start my 'holiday box' now ( i try to buy something each week, toiletries, loo rolls, washing up liquid, etc so I don't have to get it all at once. I usually look out for BOGOFs or free samples;) ).

I've managed to save enough £2 coins to pay the balance for DS2s school trip (£48) so that's one less expense to worry about.

Hoping to do a tabletop sale next week which will hopefully raise some cash.

Well I'm off to bed now, will update again soon. x

  • Sounds as if you are doing really well!

Hello JayneC...I'm a bit of a lurker, I have posted once, but only once.

I've been having a read of your thread, and firstly let me say that you are quite an inspiration, your positivity is something else.:)

Secondly, you say that you are quite good at crafts, and I happen to have found a website that may interest you (on one of my 'I'm bored let's see what I can find on the net' days).:p

It's for buying and selling craft items, maybe you could put something on there. I haven't acually looked into what it entails, so I hope it is helpfull.:)
