What Is The Best Washer - Dryer??

Well, 19 years ago, Hoover were apparently a good brand. They may have been 7 years ago. But, every one of the SEVERAL repairmen I dealt with during that six months told me that Hoover were no longer any good. They said they dealt with the same faults on Hoovers all the time.
In fact, I'd say the best way to determine a good brand would be to ask some repairmen. They are in the position to know.:beer:0 -

i have a hotpoint w/d:
http://www.sainsburyskitchenappliances.co.uk/Product_Information.aspx?ProductID=3968
bought it from sainsburys with a £3.99 per month insurance so that if it breaks down, they repair it or replace it with a new one. Haven't had any problems with it - plus it's super silent and does a 30 degree wash to save energy!! mine only cost £220 from Sainsburys in August - I see their prices have gone up slightly!0 -
I have a 'Hoover soft wave washer dryer' I have had it for 17 years and it has never had any problems.0

I hate my "Top of a bad range" Hotpoint one..3:30 hours to not dry a load is not funny.
Also the filter which blocked after about a year is "Non Customer Servicable" the first clues you get are the machine chucking water out of the soap drawer... Well I beg to differ about it being not customer servicable but I can kiss the 5 year parts goodbye lolDebt Free Marathon: Start 01/06/09 £16714 - Current Position £14514 - Finish Line Xmas 20100 -
I'm also hunting around for a new washer-dryer...
I've had an Indesit for 4 years but it's broken down more times than I care to remember! The filter keeps blocking, and the handle came off the door!!!
Our repair man now boycots all Indesit washer-dryers as "they're nowt but trouble"
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
I've heard that Hotpoint have a new one out which is meant to be pretty good... but after reading through the posts I think I may do some more research!Charles J0 -
I just wondered if those who have washer dryers on this forum, have ever had separate machines?
I would suggest reading this article if you are looking to buy one of these machines:

If you must buy a washer / dryer go for a Miele. My farts hospitalize small children0
