  • Because you came on here having a moan about the fact that MBNA had changed their t&c's and tripped you up?

BTW, my MBNA credit limit is £15k............but I also read any literature they send me :p

Hey dude. You were the one making the issue of the fact that I should be grateful for having a 12K limit at 0%.

Perhaps I'm missing something here but generally minimum payments are a lot more than this - 3-5% (£5 minimum) per month. Do MBNA not do that then - I'd be quite happy as I'm just waiting on my newly applied for MBNA card and have transferred a balance (a mere £1k).

As to your £12k limit I had one of their cards many years ago and they were constantly upping the limit without me asking, it reached £8k by the time I cancelled it (owing nothing as I paid it off every month without going even remotely near the £8k of course).

At the time I wondered why the minimum payment on 12K was only £5 a month but it was.

I guess they dont really want you to pay it off but leave it on there until the normal rate returns. :-)
  • My parents now have a £60k limit on their Barclaycard, and I have a card on the account. :T

Paul, apologies if I've missed it, but is this real debt or are you stoozing?

Something tells me that might not make me terribly popular!

And so you should be - there's no contradiction there, so I'm not sure what your point is. Anyway, as has already been pointed out, you've not been 'penalised'. You were receving a very generous offer based on certain conditions. As you failed to meet those conditions, the offer was withdrawn. It's all very well trying to be clever and make yourself a few extra quid by taking up these offers - but if you don't have the time/committment/brainpower/whatever to keep up with all the caveats, it's really not worthwhile - as you have found out.

I don't see so much 'jealousy' here as you do - perhaps that's wishful thinking on your part! What I see is people who are a bit irritated by someone who seems to think that he has some kind of fundamental human right to profit from MBNA, even though he couldn't keep to the terms of their deal. Whilst I sympathise with your misfortune, it is definitely your own doing. You decided to play MBNA at at their game - you played a bad move, and you lost out.

I'm sorry, I don't do "Bill And Ted" speak.

If you phrase your post using the Queen's English, I'm sure I'll be able to reply

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.

Yeh. You are right - fair point.

Its just I dont know why so many people on here are getting so funny about it.

Be honest, if you were in my situation what would you do? Would you try and get the money back from MBNA?
