  • I got my Navigo just today, as a complete Sat Nav virgin, with no experience of other units it seems really good value. I downloaded the upgrade, which was fairly simple to do, looking forward to giving the unit a full raod test soon!

  • Managed to get Mio Map and TomTom working on my units - Mio Map is prettier but in my opinion not as intuitive and much slower to respond. TomTom exits immediately but with Mio Map I have to count to 10.

Whichever you chose - you will be happy I am sure.

Above is the file that will give the latest update inc postcode.

BUT.. you need to change the file extn to a zip file before you can extract it.
When its downloaded it comes down as a windows media file, which of course is no good! There should be 2 folders, and a pdf to explain how to update the files

Hope This Helps anyone struggling with the update

Kelvin, it comes down as a .rar file, so unpacks with Winrar or similar unpacker with no name-change.
  • ok,, thanks
But I do not have winrar, and was not warned that I should have it.

Now got an evaluation copy of winrar, thanks!

.rar is just another packing format like .zip - sorry I forgot everyone doesn't have winrar :o

I've put Miomap 3.2 on my SD card and it's very nice. Also found a version of IGO that supposedly just copies to the card but not tried it yet.

How are you getting on with Tomtom?
I'm very tempted to do the registry mods and turn it into a normal Wince machine, then I can have the different software things on the one SD card. - should make loading them much easier.
  • Got mine through a couple of days ago. Not put TomTom on it yet, but have been trying it out with the Turbodog software that it comes with. It took about 3-4mins to acquire a satellite first time, then it worked ok for a while, but then the screen froze after about 5 mins. I tried turning off and on again and it booted up ok but then it wouldnt locate a satellite at all after that. We've just been up to Hull and back over the weekend (from london). Set off on our journey and it acquired a satellite very quickly. Again, after 5 mins it sort of froze and after a reboot it wouldnt acquire a satellite again...i left it on for the whole 4 hours up to hull and it just sat there on the map screen with the "acquiring satellite..." message. Has any one else experience this? It did the same thing on the way down, it just would not pick up a satellite. I've tried fiddling with all of the settings with no luck. Is it the software that is naff or do you think it may be the unit itself?

Sounds like you have a faulty unit...
