    dare i ask......what's a dongle!?!

strictly speaking its a usb memory stick but i call my usb bluetooth adapter and my memory sticks both dongles :rotfl:
well done pap. Ive never done that! Did buy one of those usb memory stick things once but could never work out how to use it!

Well i only did it because i 'found' by old cds when i last did it ~ over 1 year ago... opps :p

Well now you're reliant on your CDs always working and never getting scratched.

that is true that ztd, or the dongle getting corupted but i guess there is more to life iyswim. After all whats a few pics when you have life/memorys?
If you use Winzip or similar to zip them up into CD sized zip files, then save them with a password, then you can take these extra CDs to work and keep them there. So if your house does burn down, these extra ones will be fine.
wooossssssh straight over my head :rotfl:again i wouldnt care less anyways as long as i am not burnt alive or such :rotfl:

    With thermal insulation?

Not sure, it has two layers of metal inside it? My dad had it from the Navy so I'd guess it's proper

  • Thermal insulation you can think of kind of like a thermos flask in reverse for your documents - most fireproof safes now have two times/temperatures on them - one for paper and one for data. TBH if you've got someone you trust to keep things for you, your best bet would be to burn off an extra copy to give them to keep "off site" ;).

Thanks for the welcome :D I've been planning all the paperwork I need to look out when I get home to do my SOA properly, by DFD is horrific and doesn't include for any emergencies or holidays or anything so I need to get it all down for people to start pulling apart.

    Part of the Furniture
We got some good news today, we have overpaid via our electric prepayment meter £280! So they will "credit it to our next statement"

Ahem, i beg your bleeding pardon, you will send us a cheque for £280, thank you very much!!

How can you over pay on a prepayment meter, i just don't understand it!!!?

We are an all electric house and do spend about £40 a week, but that's with heating in the winter, and it's a cold house. We thought it was expensive, but it seems we have paid too much!

I am right in saying we can ask for the cash back eh?
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

It's probably documents only then. You'll come back and you CDs won't have caught fire, but will be in a nice silvery puddle in the bottom of the box.

Because you will have been paying more for your electricity than it costs - usually its to recoup arrears. If that recouping goes on too long - overpayment.

    Yes, it's your money.

Get them to adjust the meter too, so it doesn't do it again.

Oh yes, but now you know how much you really use - is that £280 over 12m? cos thats approx £5 a week too much, so if you cut your weekly eleccy spend by £5, you should be ok without it going off.

BTW, they may want to come & reset your meter....make sure they do, because otherwise it will be your piggy bank again!

    Nukes?

It doesn't really matter what it was used for, just need to find out what it was *designed* for. No labels?
