Shall I leave Wanadoo Broadband

Hi guys
I am on 512k Broadband with Wanadoo with 2gb allowance. I don't really download a lot of stuff so not too worried about the capping allowance.
I joined them last year before the 1mb was released so I am on the 512k serive. I read on their website that they want £20 as an admin fee to upgrade to 1mb.
As technically I am now out of my contract does anyone know if they will do this for free or if not should I tell them where to shove it and go with someone else.
If so, who should I go with that are reliable and cost under £17.99 a month for 1mb. Like I said above capping is not too important but if i can get a bigger allowance or unlimited it would be better.
Finally how easy it is to change providers? what do I need to do? and how long does it take to change over?
Cheers

We had loads of problems with wanadoo & asked if they would upgrade to 1mb for free because of all probs. They said no we would have to pay £20, although they did give us a couple of months free. We had been with them over a year.
It is easy to change, we moved to V21 for free & with no problems, took a couple of weeks & didn't lose internet during change over, however we are now having slow connection to V21, so are looking to change again, hubby interested in Zen.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
For £17.99 a month you can get 2Mb with 5GB with Madasafish. If you ask wanadoo for a migration code and supply that to Madasafish you can 4 months free - dropping the cost to the equivelent of £11.99 a month.
With a MAC code it is a seamless switch from one provider to the next so you won't be without internet. When I switched, it took them about a week to transfer my service and I was never without access. :dance:0 -
I have just left Wanadoo after being a customer for more years than i care to remember. We have migrated to F2S(freedom 2 surf) at no cost.
We were on 512 unlimited(although they had a fair usage policy of 40gb) @£27.99 a month.
They could upgrade us at the same price but we would have had a 30gb cap on it which is no good as we use about 45gb a month(heavy users between 3 computers networked).
Anyway F2S gave us free migration,2MB speed,unlimited downloads(no caps great) @ £24.99 a month.
My god its fast compared to what we had, wish i had changed ages ago."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
I assume you know that moving ISP with dial up to another ISP for broadband is easy, however from reading posts on this site, I get the impression that to move ISP with BB to another ISP can be more difficult, even though the previous posters claim differently.
I chose www.e7even.co.uk at £10 per month with free modem and connection, but it DID mean paying "up-front" plus I paid 24 months in advance. The change was simple, the response from the customer service team is excellent in as much as they always ring back within an hour, so you don't mind listening to the initial recorded welcome.
If I have one constructive comment, it is that their email account dosen't have an address book, so I've opened an account elsewhere.oh, and they currently increase the 512 to 1mb for free. islandmanThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Looking to move from Wanadoo in the next couple of weeks or so - their customer service is absolute crap! Told them I wanted to leave in May so they offered me the £20 back I paid to upgrade (i have been with them for 5 years), so fair enough I said i will stay - only to make sure that the £20 goes on the cc - STILL WAITING NOW. Phoned last week and tole it would be at my next bill date 9 july so am still waiting - only a few more days and i am off.
Looking at 'F2S' from posters on here and also 'freenetname' which have also been recommended on here and my brother is with them.
You do not have to change your email either you can just downgrade to PAYG and then just logon every 180 days (i think).**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
I changed from Wanadoo BB to Virgin broadband just over a month ago as Wanadoo were charging me £27.99 for 512K and wouldn't consider upgrading me unless I paid a £20 admin fee. I saved £10 a month by switching.
The changeover was incredibly easy, I just got my MAC code from Wanadoo and gave it to Virgin. Then on a pre arranged date I changed one bit of my settings and Virgin took over my connection. Virgin help desk are great and talked me through the change as I was a bit nervous as it seemed so easy!

Unlike all of you, I had no trouble upgrading, just told them that I wanted to upgrade, at 1st they said Id need to pay the upgrade fee, told them there was no way i was paying that, as I had been a customer for 2 years, asked to speak to someone in charge, told them I would cancel and move to a company with better customer service and they agreed to upgrade me for free! Sent me a new welcome pack, with new modem.... Just mention the customer service bit, works for me everytime.....
I have to say, I have no problem with wanadoo! In this trusted place U can erase

I too was told to I had to pay the £20 admin fee to upgrade to a service that everyone else has a a default! I was furious. I phoned up a few weeks later to get my mac code, and lo and behold the £20 admin fee was dropped and they upgrade me and gave me 2 months free service.
Now the two months is up, I have got my MAC code I'm off to E7even with their £10per month deal :-)0 -

Just check, I think the MAC only lasts 30 days before you have to ask for another.0
