sorry when i wrote franked i meant the slip being franked by a PO.
showing proof the item was posted over being a 'random' tracking number0 -
I've looked on Royal Mail website and the Post Office website and there is no mention of getting the recorded delivery slip franked.0

hmmmmmmmmmm my point was that anyone can produce a tracking number.
you can order/collect RD/SD slips for free without sending any item.
you can then send drop the recorded item in the post without going to a post office.
so having a tracking number isnt proof of sending0 -

Have to agree with that. I've got a whole load of recorded delivery slips unused. My post office gave them to me so I could fill them in at home without having to do it at the PO."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I think custardy means the round inked stamp that they slam onto the RD / SD slip when you post the item. With the post office name on it.====0 -
Thanks D123 I was getting confused there for a second! I didn't realise you could just get a roll of recorded delivery slips, mind you I've no need as it is more of a one off for personal use. I just assumed once the slip is filled in by the PO clerk that was it.0
