  • Further to all the issues highlighted here, I was a bit scared about the offer I received, but fortunately it all went through ok. Well, the delivery guy couldn't find where I live, so the delivery was delayed a day, but that wasn't too bad...

I got a voucher for 1000 Clubcard points if I spent over £50 on wines with their wine club. I've never used it before, but thought it was worth it on this occasion. Spent £51 on wine, £5 on delivery = £56. Got 1056 Clubcard points = £42.24 of Deals vouchers... and a 5p/litre off petrol voucher, which in my 40-litre car, is worth £2...! Effectively 18 bottles of wine for £12, or 65p a bottle.

I forever go out for dinner with my OH on day trips into London, to visit my parents or on shopping sprees to prepare for our wedding - so the meals out would have to be taken, even if we didn't have the vouchers. Not to mention any other use that we may find...

    Thanks Tesco!

PS It's good wine, too, Ernest & Julio Gallo red/rose wines...! *hic*
Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...

    Hi,

I also have an email from Tesco in response to my complaint demanding copies of the codes i.e. that I scan them in and send them. I am also furious as this is not really the issue - the issue is that they are reneging on a financial deal that we as customers then pay in good faith.

They have the facility at the website to reject a voucher if it has been used too many times or is out of date and if we give codes that are acceptable then they should remain accepted.

I am going to email back and say that I don't have the coupons to scan in but that I still think they should honour their deal.

    best wishes

I agree - in the end Tesco website has often refused voucher codes but these were accepted at point of sale and to me they are being dishonest. I know the code was found on here - but they are not stupid they must be aware this goes on - they get more business from it I bet as I only shopped with them because of the codes. If they don't want to accept them - fine - but do this before my sale goes through not after. I have stopped shopping with them.

  • Yes if you see the post from TescoEmployee above they are now counting this as voucher 'abuse' and running trials to stop it - I guess we are part of them! Must be some sort of trial to teach us a lesson for using vouchers not directly sent to us by letting them go through then asking for a copy, rather than stopping them at point of sale. I got a really polite letter asking to see the voucher - so not much I can do ,they are just following orders from what I can see. Well, once bitten ....

I have a question. When you use the money off code, say £5 off £50 and the total of your shopping plus delivery is something like £60 and they accept the voucher but after all the BOGOF and 2 for £1 type things have been taken off the total is £46 (and therefore under £50) will they still accept the code seeing as the accepted it online and nothing gets deducted until they go through the checkout?

    Does that make sense lol.

  • The answer seems to be 'it depends' at them moment - if the final bill is reduced because something is out of stock you may also have problems. See the previous posts - if you can produce the original voucher, scan it in and send it to them, you may have a better chance.

Bank-in few codes today but all will expired tomorrow (is that right??). The earliest delivery date is 3 days later or store pick up available 2 days later. Can I still use any of these codes?

    XXHGBL - £10 off direct
    XXYR8H - £6 off direct

Well, after three emails and hanging on hold for 45 minutes before losing will to live and hanging up I finally got a result and had the £12 refunded.

Got the stock response how the CS rep appreciated how disappointed I must be etc etc but I got my money so that'll do for me.

I do have a slight conern over tesco employee's post tho - admittedly we use the vouchers but spending a hundred to get a fiver off is hardly abuse now is it! Tesco could easily update their IT to only honour a voucher once, gees cd wow can do it for a 50p voucher after all!! Tesco are happy to play the game too and if they want to change the rules fine but at least be open and honest about it, if the vouchers stop thousands of us will simply go somewhere else every week - so we get a fiver or a tenner off, it simply offsets the delivery at the end of the day, many of Tesco's competitors charge less to deliver after all.
