Hi
thanks for getting back to me. I have lifted the bathroom ceiling cover off (its stored in the void between the suspended ceiling and actual ceiling and its a Dougall Sutton. Can't find a model number anywhere though.
I've tried increasing fan speed to but it just makes it feel colder.0 -

Appreciate your efforts. I fear they may have shut down as their number doesn't connect. I may be screwed as if the unit is broken and they have shut down i won't be able to replace it as it seems a pretty bespoke one box unit i haven't seen anywhere else.
Lets hope the weather improves for my sake!0 -

Have you checked if the other flats in your block are coping OK?0 -

Its -0.2 here, very cold indeed... had a few flakes of snow here and a toasty 22C throughout the flat, has held that temp from about 15:30. At 1pm it was 16C! Unit hasnt cycled off though its just kept running.
Spot on here. I have been working away today and came home to a lovely warm house this evening. 1C outside, 21C inside. All radiators piping hot. I have heard the unit defrost once tonight, but that is to be expected. Electricity used today by heating just over £1.25 so far. Won't cost any more than £1.50-£2 for the days heat & hot water, even in weather as cold as it is now.0 -

Just got back from a neighbours funnily enough! And i actually mentioned it to him. I think there's nothing wrong with mine but the systems struggle at this heat. Have managed to get to 20 degrees at the moment.0

Perhaps that is just how your system works... in this weather your best off leaving it on all the time so it doesnt have to work as hard to raise internal temperatures. I would ensure as well that it has full access to outside air, check that any return air grilles/filters are not blocked. Assuming the unit gets its air from the outside? If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0

I am going to suggest exactly the same as Richard. Don't turn it off while the temps are so cold out. Just leave it ticking over and it will probably maintain the temperature just fine. The nice thing is that even leaving them on 24/7 isn't going to break the bank.0
