I was just thinking, do the government issue any where, how many complaints the CSA receive each year etc?
It would be intresting to know how many received complaints the CSA/or goverenment get about the CSA !
Kellogs would you know this answer?or find out from work?
Hi Nat.B, good question. It says here:
csa.gov.uk/en/about/faq/complaints.asp#q4,
"In the 12 months to June 2010 we received 23,600 complaints. This is a reduction of 12.5% on the previous year, when we received just below 27,000 complaints"
Of cause we would want to confirm anything they have to say. The Alternative Dispute Resolution site, adrnow.org.uk/go/SubPage_72.html, states
'During 2009-10, 2806 complaints were brought to the Independent Case Examiner (ICE) about the CSA'. You might expect to action 1-in-10 you have, as I do, and escalate 1-in-10 of those. These 2806 are escalated complaints so you might expect there to be 28060 complaints to the CSA, if people went straight on from trying to complain to the CSA to making a complaint to the ICE.
So it seems at least the 23,600 figure is within the right order of magnitude.
(However, if people where refered from the CSA to a second body before the ICE, the figure of 23,600 would be low).
I would work it out based on the CLC (Corporate Lie Coefficient) and call it 35,000 complaints in 2010 to account for Lies, Statistical manipulation, Exclusions, Modified sampling.
This is not high or unreasonable compared to high street banks - with the same clients, "In total there were 69,841 complaints", (legalbeagles.info/forums/showthread.php?t=2347, 6th paragraph).
35,000 CSA complaints in 2010 seems reasonable, would you agree?

I am having a total nitemare with the CSA-Is my local councillor my only or best option to chase them up? Have emailed the CSA 3 times and no response yet? Have also phoned 6 times in last 6 weeks asking for a call back-didnt receive 1?
Hi Lor, I've been looking around at CSA issues, came across
Independent Case Examiner (ICE),
also ADR is alternative dispute resolution -

The CSA might be accountable to these bodies, possibly.

I have just spend most of the day trying to sort out a mess the csa has made with my son. He has had £361 taken out of his pay for child support. He has no children, lives in Wales and has always lived in Wales.
It turns out the Mother of this child who lives in York, didn't know the DOB of the father, so when the CSA did a check on the name and DOB, my son was top of the list, even though, their middle names are different, and the other boy had changed his name 7 years ago and he didn't tell this girl.
My son has been stressed all day over this, they have assured me that he will get his money back, but How can the CSA do this without doing a thorough check, as the two men involved live hundreds of miles apart.
How do I make a complaint about this, and not to the CSA as they will not do this properly, as someone was not doing their job properly
What the hell is going on here????!!!! Even I am shocked at this and we have had a nightmare with CSA over the past few years!! How the hell are CSA still being allowed to play with people's lives this way?? The whole system needs scrapping and starting again from scratch with the same calculation systems for all and proper rules and guidelines. Its an absolute disgrace that things like this are being allowed to happen and nothing is being done about it!!!0 -
i worked for the csa and they get loads all i can tell you that complaining once is not enough
after your first complain wait four weeks and complain again seriously because the first complaint will go to the bottom of a very big pile
My advice is to contact your MP straight away via writetothem.com/ and explain in full detail what your complaint is. Then sit back and watch the C.S.A jump through hoops to sort it for you ;-) :j0
