Hotel in Valencia - any recommendations?

I am looking for a hotel in Valencia and would like to have a decent standard, minimum 3 star, preferably with car parking, for a weekend at the end of February.

I'd love to hear of any that people have stayed in and would recommend.

Thanks

There's not much info around here about Valencia is there!!!

We're in the same boat - not literally! Need accommodation and ideas on sightseeing for two/three weeks time.

Has anyone got anything to say?

We have stayed in Valencia twice. The first time was at the Ibis at Palacio de Congresos. It is out of the centre but right next to a Metro station so very convenient. It was of a nice standard and reasonably priced. Parking was ok nearby too, free in the street. There are 3 hotels in the same building, one of the others is a Novotel.

Can't remember the name of the second one we stayed at, but it was a 4* and near the Mestalla football stadium.

Valencia is a great city. Make sure you go to the City of Arts & Sciences. The sea life place is amazing, with some indoor and some outdoor exhibits over a large area. The central area is great for wandering, eating and drinking. Eat paella at lunchtime like the locals do, never at night. The lunchtime fireworks at the Ajuntament square are worth seeing, or hearing!

Walk the old path of the Turia river, which was diverted some years ago. Get around by Metro, it's cheap, clean, safe and quick. One line is all overground and goes to the beach.

    Enjoy Valencia. We loved it!

Believe those and you'll believe anything! One's sponsored by a language school, and another's a booking agency!

    Tripadvisor is OK of course.

Yes and one gives ideas for days out/things to do and you did say you were looking for accomodation so a booking agency seemed appropriate to me

There really is no pleasing some people!

Thanks for the very constructive response. It's not always the case on here!

Don't suppose you actually went to a game at the stadium? We'll be there when they're at home to Zaragoza (by which time they may have won the Copa del Rey!) so may try to get to see it. (OH permitting!!!)

Did you really think I hadn't done other general websites? The reason for asking here is to get MSErs views.
