That lad has a lot of holidays doesn't he? Hope he will take you away somewhere nice soon hun x
Re Emily, it is hard when they are rude to you. I know mine have tried it in the past and have done so recently...Teenagers eh! You have to be firm, and criticise behaviour and not the dhild..it's weird but they hate it when it becomes personal, even if they can be really foul to you.. I often try and diffuse it with humour by saying something stupid like..oh so you want to pay rent? £35 a week please..Takes the wind right out of their sails. They never know whether i mean it or not and i get the odd question now regarding rent so it plays on their mind. Subtle and to the point.
she is a bit younger though, so guides and brownies a good option, we have all been subjected to the glare and kids are born manipulaters..I still say, don't you glare at me with those eyes, I gave you those eyes, same with the mouth..dont you potty mouth me with that mouth i gave you that mouth.. and so on.Dont you turn your back on me, damn i gave you that fine backside... Heard it on a movie, The preachers wife, and i think it is a really good comeback which lightens the situation. Pick and choose the phrases, it makes me laugh and them.
Good luck and hope you are feeling better soon.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I am deffo gonna try some of those ones out!!! Feeling a bit better now thanks bob, just knackered out as not sleeping too well due to the lovely heat we have been having! Emily is behaving herself thank goodness, little madam has her SATS all week and have said I might try and take her swimming on Friday afternoon as a treat! Thinking if I cancel the childcare for the day and then finish work earky, I could use the money to take her there instead. Good to get her some exercise and me too! Am gonna call the Girl Guide people this week too!
I have just been watching a documentry about young mums on BBC2...made me cry :( I am a very emotional person though...always have been :( Not good sometimes...made me realise how lucky I am to have such a wonderful daughter and remembered that once I was a young mum like that...scary. So pleased they all wanted to do things with their lifes, education etc as young mums can get a lot of bad press...I know I certainly did! Parenting is such a hard job but I wouldn't change my little mini-me for the world! Was saddened at the fact that some of the girls were only 2 years older than my DD...I sooo want Emily to do well for herself and go to Uni like I did etc...Interesting tele...don't usually watch much tv really!
Am gonna be getting ready for bed in a mo but feel like I have sooo much to do! This house is a mess again and wanted to get that darn snowball thing done too. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day! Also need to find my darn running gear as gonna hit the road for a run tomorrow lunchtime as this lovely weather means I have no excuse! Need to sort out my running as need to start training for the next half marathob very soon! I know I will feel better when I get back into the swing of it, as the exercise makes me feel less knackered out which seems a bit crazy! Actually looking forward to it, nice break from the office as well! Hope everyone is well...xxx

  • I feel knackered at the thought of your half marathon as well.
Poor Emily, SATS in this weather..not nice, hope she has done ok.
Those programmes are depressing, my friend works in a pupil referral unit. In there is a girl of 12, her mum is 24 and gran is, 37...Now that is depressing! seems the norm in some areas.
I wonder how to break the cycle at times, as a parent i never wanted kids early, my mum was 17 when she had me. I was 23 with my first and my sis, 18. I find myself repeating certain patterns, as in how i deal with things..mum was quite tough and i didn't want to be but had to ( if that makes sense) We all make mistakes, but it is important to move forward and let the next generation make their own, for good or for bad.
I am waffling now..hope you sleep well. speak later BOB XX

That's not all some of the kids in the PRU are parents themselves. It is often hidden in society the actual amount of young pregnant mums. last term she taught a 13 year old mother of twins, i couldn't imagine her life at all. I admire the tenacity though and the fact that a lot of the girls want better for their children, she was only in the unit because she was bullied at school and called names.she was since transferred to another school and is doing well by all accounts. My mate said she was such a lovely girl, and had lots of support from her parents and the father's parents. I feel sad though that we as parents know what a struggle it is going to be in the future for her.

Hello everyone! Sorry Ihen't been about...been on a bit of a downer the last few days as everything is getting a bit much! Tuesday was a right mare...was very stressed at work and came home with a splitting headache only to find that Emily had been involved in a 'felt tip pen' fight and had ruined her uniform! When I asked her all about what happened she went all 'Vicky Pollard' on me and that riled me up even more and I gave her a heck of a rollocking! Especially as she said she came out of it worse so I have said she is wearing it anyway and I have refused to buy her a new one! I then tried to relax and ended up watching a program on the tele which depressed the hell out of me and I sat there questioning my life and every mistake I have made and then got so upset I went to bed! Yesterday wasn't much better either, but at least Emily is behaving I suppose!

Have been busy tonight finding bank statements and card statements and checking for late fees...I have found one bank one (£25) and 3 card ones (£12 each) so am gonna take copies tomorrow and send them off to the relevant peeps to see if I can claim anything back...worth a shot!

Housework wise the house still looks like a hell hole but will worry about it tomorrow night as am too shattered today to do anything about it...had a majorly busy day at work as the bosses thought someone had hacked into one of our servers and fillled it full of !!!!!!! They had no idea what on earth was going on so managed to sort it but ended up getting wound up in the process! I seriously need to chill out and not worry about everything so much!

Running wise I went out for a 4 miler on Tuesday and will be going out again on Sunday and start my proper schedule next week! Swimming group sounds good bob, but 9pm is a little late isn't it! I think I would be dozing off in the pool! :o Hope dd1 is doing ok with her uni work. I have been there and got the T-shirt, degrees are HARD work!!! But so worth it in the end.

I contacted Martin's blokie on Wednesday morning but haven't heard anything. Basically I was bored on Wednesday and was looking at debt and bankruptcy information when I saw that you could view peoples bankruptcy orders online. I looked for my ex's and saw that on his file, he stated that he had been 'lately living at...my address' at the time he went bankrupt which was a complete lie! He had been 'removed' about 8 months before so I was worried about it as thought it may had affected my credit rating but sure I didn't notice anything on my files when I claimed them from the credit checking companies earlier on in the year. I was really concerned so contacted Martin's people but have not heard anything...I have contacted the people on the website as they had a way of reporting errors on bankruptcy notices but they haven't got back to me either! I dunno!

Anyhooooos, want to sort these letters out tomorrow and also check online banking as think I screwed up and am nearly out of cash, no change there! Was underestimating my rent by about £30 so my spreadsheet is all wrong! What a muppet :( Oh well...payday in 12 days...whoop whoop get in! xxx

  • Cripes Donna, you have been through it lately. Feeling down like that, i hope any comments i made about my friends teaching haven't added to that!I am a great supporter of anyone trying to achieve a better life for themselves and their children, you are doing a great job, so keep your chin up.
Past mistakes are simply that,in the past.... and the definition of a mistake is that you learn from that and move on.Today is the only reality you have to bother about keep moving forwards and you will get there.
I never knew that about bankruptcies, it may be worth posting on that board and seeing if any of the wise folk on there can help you.
felt tip fight....hmmm, try posting on OS board and see if they have any tips for getting them out ..someone will know.
Best of luck with it all.
    BOB xx
