Have a nosy round boot sales. Often you see cots for only a few pounds, you could take the bits you don't want to the tip, and keep the spares you require.

I once did this for pushchair spaes, the chair was knackered, but the bits I wanted were fine, and it was cheaper than trying to get parts delivered specially.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

    Hi

I noticed that you had found a shop on eBay called deliver 2 U who sold spares bolts for your cot - I've searched eBay and can't find this shop. I know it's a long shot but do you by any chance have any more details on them like a seller ID?

    Many Thanks

Hi don't know if I'll be able to help but I actually work for Mothercare, and deal with spare parts and repairs alot. I can usually get hold of most parts for cots without any issues so am suprised you are being told parts are no longer available for a 3 year old cot. By law spare parts have to be available for 2 years after the item has been discontinued. Who did you initially speak to? and What cot and parts are you after?

  • Hi there, did anyone get anywhere with searching for the small plastic bit? I have the exact same problem!!
  • I think what everybody is talking about is called a dropside catch or gravity dropside catch.

I'm looking for one as well.
  • We had same issue when getting our 4 year old mothercare cot down from the loft - had lsot entire bag of fixings! I phone the mothercare helpline and was able to buy bag of fixings for £10. I would try phoning again, maybe you got duff person last time you called. If not, and you are not sure what you are looking for in a hardware shop, try paying a local joiner to improvise, a lot cheaper than buying a new cot!

Ive now finnished work as am on mat leave so cant be of much help personally but would deffinatley reccomend anyone who needs spare parts pop along to their local mothercare. They should be able to help you with cots that arent more than 5 years old and some that are, if they tell you they cant help then get in contact with customer services because every store can order spares just some of the smaller ones dont do it that often! Although cots get discontinued the parts are still the same on newer cots so could be worth comparing the bits you need with those on the display models.

Common parts that people need replacing..

Drop side catches - plastic bits that hold up cot sides, make sure you order the correct one they come in Left and Right versions.

Drop side rods - the metal bars that the drop side runs up and down.

Drop side runners - the plastic strip mounted inside the cot ends.

Bolt nut pack - complete fittings pack.

HTH helps some of you x
