    thank you ClareEmily

No, unfortunately we don't know why she died... her sister (apart from looking really down) seems ok...we have been keeping our eyes on her. It is so sad because they would always be with each other and would snuggle up to each other!

I am glad to hear that rabbits will accept another one - I have always had rabbits since I was a child myself but had never had two together

I had thought of rehoming a rabbit and will look at the links you have given me

    Thanks again!
  • Arrrgh. My bugs is in being neutered today and I am clockwatching. Can call at 2 to see how's she's doing but don't think I dare incase it's bad news and I'm at work.

I'm convinced something is going to go wrong, or I'll get her home and she'll die or something. Am even setting up a campbed so I can sleep next to her tonight to keep an eye on her.

Somebody tell me I'm being silly, please!

Thanks for all the information and links Claire.

Timothy Hay seems to be the best, doesn't it? The link you posted charges quite a lot of postage, where does everyone else get their hay from?

    Thanks

I get the Excel hay and the Excel dried grass mix thing which Max has a penchant for (at £3.20 for a teeny bag!!) from my local pet shop. I don't live in a big city or anything so maybe worth phoning your local pet shop to see:D
  • She gave us a bit of a scare last night (was a bit wheezy, kept falling over, would only take water a drop at a time off my finger).

However, this morning you wouldn't think she'd had anything done. Munching on cabbage, drinking plenty and even managed to escape for a hop about. Keeping her on cage rest for a few days as she is prone to bolting round at full speed and bucking up in the air.

She got spoilt at the vets though as they think she is adorable.

    Aww that's great news:j

My Max didn't drink at all from his bottle when he was in the house for 2 days (was eating though so I was soaking his leaves in water) but as soon as I put him back in his hutch he was glugging it down like it was going out of fashion!!!!!!!! Vet says that he was in the huff and this was his way of showing me...typical man eh? Always gotta make a drama!!!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

BunBun doesn't drink at all. Its been 5 months, and I've not seen any evidence of her drinking! Is that normal with buns that eat mainly hay and veg? She has a water bowl and a bottle, but doesn't use them!

Well they do get moisture from hay and veg but really should be drunking water too. Max drinks anything from 1-2cm a day from his bottle.

What is Bunbun's wee and poo like? Is there plenty wee and it shouldn't be that offensive a smell. Poops should be like raisin Poppets unless there are the ones that get eaten and they haven't been.

Have you mentioned this to the vet if you have ever been?

To tempt bunnies to drink you can add a little cranberry or apple juice to the water.
