:A Thanks Sue for your lovely reply!:A

My FIL was in hospital last week, he keeps getting blockages, causing extreme pain & vomiting. He's still suffering now. Fathers Day is on Sunday, & we feel so blessed to still have him with us.

He has to see the consultant on Monday, so hopefully something can be done. It's horrible to see him suffer so much.

I've been brave this week & nagged people at work for sponsors! I've nearly reached my target! :j :j £412 raised so far!:j :j

Well done Sue on giving up smoking.:j 10yrs for you!:j

    Hi Kirsty,

I really sympathise as it must be so miserable for him with all the pain and discomfort that he suffers. Let's hope they can sort it all out on Monday and make him far more comfortable.

I hope he has some respite from it all on Sunday and is able to enjoy Fathers' Day with you all - I'll bet he feels the blessed one, to be with you all too!

Keep nagging Kirsty! I do hope you get to the £500 - you've asked your boss I hope!;)

All the best Kirsty, keep up the updates please as it's good to hear from you.

    Love, Sue. xx

    Hiya Sue:A

I've got my boss to sponsor me, but only £5. I work for the CAB which is a charity, so work sponsors are not huge amounts. Don't worry I will keep nagging!

A link to a newspaper article in yesterdays local paper. It wasn't in the issue where I live, but I found it online, it's my MILs story.

    article:http://www.thisiswesterngazette.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=164284&command=displayContent&sourceNode=164267&contentPK=20840055&moduleName=InternalSearch&formname=sidebarsearch

My FIL is still really poorly, & they are hoping to admit him today & drain the blockage through his nose, like they did last time. They should of kept him last week, but he was discharged within 24 hrs.

We are still hoping to go camping in the New Forset ASAP, just waiting for my FIL to pick up, then we will go for a weekend. Can't wait.

    Love Kirsty. x

Pooor chap.....I guess he must be here on MSE with us then! :D

    Hi Kirsty,

I've just read it all through (same region as me!) and it's so sad about them both talking early retirement - then being hit with your FIL's illness. I can understand your MIL feeling a bit guilty as she can't do anything for him, but I hope she doesn't feel too guilty, the main thing is that she's there for him as and when he needs her! Very sad indeed though.

I hope they were able to drain the blockage as was hoped, though it sounds as though they slipped up last week when they could have spared him all that misery! Easy for me to talk I know, but.....

Good luck with being able to get to the New Forest Kirsty, no doubt you're in need of the break. We've been hoping to get there as well, but then the weather wasn't too good so we've hung on, but we'll get there soon.

All the VERY best, Kirsty and I hope you get that break!

    Love, Sue. x

Takes hubby & I about 45 mins to do 3 miles, though that's not power walking, just very brisk. No idea what 5k is in miles

  • 5K is about 3 miles :) So it should be about the same time.

Btw! I just thought id let everyone know, i managed to double my target! I was stuck on £34 a couple of days ago, so i pushed more and more and even asked for help from some moneysavers! And they all came together for me and sponsored me! :D I now have £200 raised and i was only aiming for £100!

My race is tomorrow at Basingstoke, wish me luck all!

My friend and I are running a last minute one pound campaign, if people can spare a pound they will all add up and make a big difference.

This will be my second, and again, will be in memory of my dear Daddy who we lost to cancer 11 years ago now, and for everone who has been hit by this dreadful disease :(

Here's my link if anybody is kind enough to join the one pound campaign and get themself a virtual kiss from me ;)

Well done everyone else, keep on running! :j
