  • I don't take any money to work at all because there's nowhere to spend it! I'm on a Nature Reserve away from everything. No shops to nip out to during the day. Packed lunch is my normal thing - unless I'm having a bonfire,- then I take a potato wrapped up in foil and ready to bake, with a banana for dessert. Scrumtious!
  • Just wanted to add - I never, never, spend the £1 coins with dragons on. I've been doing this for years. I used to get quite a lot but now I can go a while without getting any. It's lovely when I find one to put away (unless I really have hardly any money and am then tempted to pretend I haven't noticed it!! Anyway I've £48 in my dragon box at the moment 'cos I didn't spend it over Christmas even though we needed to.

  • Hi, I just registered yesterday and this is my first post. I'm not very computor literate so I don't even know if I'm doing this right. I've been lurking? about for a while before plucking up the courage to join in. I've been seriously moneysaving for a couple of months now and find everything on this site fantastic. If only I'd know this stuff before!
My best bit today was getting whoops's at Asda on the way home from work tonight- 3 x packs of bread rolls -4p each
    3 x packs of crumpets -8p each
    2 x packs of potato cakes - 4p each.
    1 x pack of croissants - 9p
They will all be going in the freezer. I was almost jumping with joy at my bargains.
Thanks to Sophiesmum for her thoughts.

    hi Green dragon:hello:
Hope you carry on posting, well done on bagging your asda goodies. Keeping away from supermarkets for a while but I still have a freezer full of asda bakery goodies bought on whoops. Ours always has doughnuts bags of 10 for 10p,and tons of uncut loaves etc for pennies, usually around 8:30pm is best time here:D - It gets addictive this moneysaving you know:rotfl:

  • Thanks Sophiesmum, :T
I'm usually not in the shops so late, but I couldn't believe the bargains to be had. It might even be worth a trip now and again. I don't normally shop at Asda but I've just signed up for their card so I can get 2p a litre off their petrol. As long as I pay the money over straight away it's always going to be cheaper than normal and I can now go for the bargain whoops's at the same time. Wins all round!:j
  • no spend day here.

have put all my change in my pots and am refusing to break in to my notes!

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
