I have just rediscovered Knitting
I am knitting THIS hat for a 17 year old (girl) for Xmas and a scarf (just cast on until it's about wide enough then knit one pearl one until it's long enough) using motled purple chunky knit wool total cost £3.39 (for one ball of wool which gives enough wool for both hat and scarf) Loads cheaper than £12.99+ from C&A or wherever. It took me about 3 hours to knit it (then I unpicked it because it was full of holes :-[, it looked good though, apart from the holes)
There are loads of free patterns on the internet just type 'free knitting patterns' in a search engine

i did this with some last year for the kids, put toy not included on it. they were stunned, but it was very funny.0 -

ask at your local florists, they will usually sell you some oiff there roll, i got about 4mtrs last year for about £1.50.0
