I used to put my dogs into kennels until i found a lady who does home from home boarding in her own house. Would highly reommend it. Not overly expensive and the dogs get plently of walks and cuddles! It's called Marie's and you will find it in the yellow pages. It is based in Newtownards.

Hi, this is what i offer also for pets. I can only take 1 dog at a time, will consider more if they are from the same home and not too big. Your dog will get loads of attention and will be sharing our home, also can be walked with my regulars for canine company. Many thanks..lucyspetpals0 -

I have used Happy Hounds Pet Service in N'Ards..the lady is GREAT, she was absolutely fabulous with my dogs Scully & Scottie - she keeps the dogs in her own home, so no kennels, cages etc & only takes on a small no. of dogs at a time so they get one on one atention. I had been very nervous before ref letting my dogs off the lead, but she actually gave me the confidence to do this now..I am so grateful & would defo recommend her to anyone fopr short / long stays away from home..her no. is :07747 0851770

I see this has been raised again so I thought I'd add an update....
Our dogs have now had several stays at the Dogs House (Ballyblack). They love it and we love it! The owner is a fantastic lady who is really great with the dogs in her care. I was very impressed with her knowledge of my dogs' individual little idiosyncracies which proves to me that she must have spent a considerable amount of time interacting with them on a one-to-one basis to have noticed some of the little oddities.
The dogs are excited to be there when we drop them off and look great when we get them back so I can relax and enjoy my hols knowing they are safe, secure, happy and well cared for. Well worth every penny!0 -
i had my dog in this place and was horrified by their cold and un helpfull manner,my dog was a nervous wreck when i collected her and had bad cuts on her hind quarters,i was told to go take a jump by the elderly man running the place, his attitude was awful..made me feel intimadated.my dog is my baby and he treats dogs like meat...i wont be back and ive told friends not to go..my neighbour down the road from me had a bad experience too..her dog was locked up for a week and not walked..it caught fles also and also came out with a limp....i am amazed they treat animals this way...beware i say0

We use breeny boarding kennels ,and have done for the last 20 years, our dogs are kennelled at least twice a year and have never had a problem or worried about leaving any dog there. The staff a great, the dogs are well looked after and I know they are safe....for 2 large labs in the one large run its about £19 a night for the both of them.Driving the dogs up to the kennels you've never seen wagging tails like it in the back of the car, well, they need a holiday too!!

We use Dogwood Pet Resort in Bangor. It's £16/night including food and walkies. We booked there last year without having seen the kennels as we adopted a dog shortly before an already planned trip (we couldn't leave the doggie in the rescue centre after spotting him). He comes out well looked after and they even have web cam rooms which we used the first time so we could check up on him. They also do some nice if pricey extras. We got our doggie a Sunday dinner plus the Easter special last year and this year he'll be getting the Sunday dinners again as a treat.0
