Thanks for that. I imagine most cts would be raging about being sent to a cattery so its good to know it was content!

Thought this might help anyone planning holidays and boarding their pet. Dogs need to be vaccinated agains Parvo-Virus, Distemper, Hepatitis & Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough [up the nose spray for this one]. Cats need to be vaccinated against Feline Infectious Enteritis and Cat Flu. These are the ones that boarding establishment will ask to see proof of and they have to be current - i.e. if your 8 year old dog/4 year old cat was vaccinated when it was a puppy/kitten, it is out of date and will need re-doing.

Cedar Grove Vets on the Knock carriageway - you often see the kennel maids out walking the dogs. Friends won't leave their dog anywhere else.

Garden Lodge Vets in Redburn, Old Holywood Road, again you often see the dogs being walked. I've left my cat here in the past so this would be my preference.

Not sure of prices but the last time I had kitty at Garden Lodge a lady was making arrangements for her two dogs to be be boarded for a fortnight it was over £200:eek:
Our cats were miserable in Garden Lodge - and when we asked to see the accomodation we saw why - A horrible dark, grim old converted stable - it was awful and we never used it again. That was ten years ago so maybe it has improved but ALWAYS ASK to see the accomodation, and if they try to put you off WALK AWAY.
We have tried at lot but Breeny mentioned above the best by far.
  • We have used Breeny in the past but had a bad experience one time. We now use Whinney Hill and I couldn't recommend them highly enough - ddog is ex rescue and tends to be nervous round kennels but he loves it there.

He's classed as small and it's £10.50 per day. You need all your jabs and kennel cough up to date and if you want July/ Aug you would probably need to book by the prev Dec. They are very popular with good reason.

We use Ballyharvey pet club one mile from airport. They also do the parking and bus to airport. Fantastic people to deal with, owned and run by a family. Very strict about jabs, you can get pets groomed as well. Highly recommended.
  • There is a new place open in the Bangor area near clandeboye Lodge. Very plush so i am told. Does anyone know what it is called ?

Wouldn't mind a holiday there myself sounds great :rotfl: :rotfl:

I would seriously wait for a recommendation from others though before putting my wee doggie in there;) gonna stick with Ballygrainey myself they couldn't be nicer and my doggie always seems to hate to leave the place when we pick him up;)
