Applying for new accounts, which will affect my credit rating?

Options
Hello there, ive been reading up on quite a number of the articles on the main site and thought it was time to sign up to the forum.

Im currently sorting out all my accounts and will be applying for a few new ones due to low interest rates on the accounts i already have, but i need to know before i do, what would actually show up on my credit report and what would affect my credit rating!?!

I dont want to apply to more than one account for a couple of months if they do. So here's my list:-

Current account - I had a Lloyds TSB Classic and upgraded it online to the Classic Plus last week.
Mini ISA - Ive also already applied for the Icesave mini isa last week
Savings Account
Regular saving account

Thanks

J

    Hi J,

    Welcome to MSE.

You would probably be best posting this on the Savings board.

    Gone ... or have I?
  • Thanks dmg.
  • As savings accounts aren't credit products they will not affect your credit rating. Searches for accounts would if the bank you apply with do this but other than that I'd personally choose carefully what account you like and keep your applications to a minimum.
