360 or PS3 - Your Say.

i think that PS3 is the future of gaming. so, it depends what you want. PS3 for the future, XBox for now...

PS3 for me because of:

Blu Ray drive
Free online gaming
Built in hard drive which is easily replaceable to a much larger capacity
Call of Duty 4 which kicks donkey compared to the 30 version

The 360 of course has more games at the mo but the PS3 is getting better, and the downsides with 360's

Known for breaking down
Having to buy a wireless adaptor to go online
Having to pay to go online
No Blu Ray, of course you can get a hd dvd player but thats extra too
Limited Har Drive

Having played both and reviewed games on both, I'd have to say the 360!

The games look better on the 360. I don't know why or how, but they do. Example, take FIFA 08 and Tiger Woods 08 for both consoles and see for your self! It's not much difference, but it's there.

Secondly the online gaming (live) for the 360 is so much better than the PS3 version. It's better supported and yes it does cost, but you get what you pay for!

I would say however that the PS3 looks like it will have a massive advantage with the Blu-Ray player in it! MS have said they have never ruled out a Blu-Ray player, but I believe Sony's Playstation dept. will fight tooth and nail to stop that ever happening!

On the how long it will be around for side of things. MS recently said they have admired how well the PS2 has done (10 years it has been around at least) and they want to try and reach that sort of milestone as well. It will be around for at least 5 more years!

Wrong, wrong, wrong, all wrong!

The old version of the 360 has had issues, but apparantly nothing out of the norm (although I don't really believe that!) It also appears that they have no figured out how to solve that issue with the new motherboard and chip that is in the new versions and the ones they fix.

Secondly, where did you make up the point you have to buy a wireless adapter to go online? It has a socket in the back. If you want to go wireless then yes you do, but it's Live ready out of the box.

Yes you have to pay to go online, but, can you honestly say that's a bad thing. Have you played on Live and compared it to the shambles that Sony offer?

And limited Hard drive? Yes, the standard is 20GB. But, you can buy the 160GB version and it comes with the Elite. That version dwarfs the 60GB version on the PS3!

No Blu-Ray and I think that is the 360's major weakness!

My major beef with the 360 was the noise from the console and the elite still has this noise problem, as where I have heard from a friend on msn that the PS3 is quiet.

And some people say that the 360 is brilliant online, anyone who played Rainbow6 would know that it was truly awful online.

to turn it around what do you want?
HD playback?
certain games?
etc

for me the cost of the ps3 was to high a i dont have an HD display o utilise the blue ray.
same with the likes of wifi as my 360 is beside the router as is my xbox 1 on xbmc

What preconceptions are theese then?

As already said I have had a 360, I have a friend on msn who has a PS3 and all he has told me is that its quiet, he also used to have a 360 as we used to play COD3 online, im not going to put what I want as I know what I want but I didnt want to sway the direction of the thread by putting what I need.

I don't think the Elite is that loud to be honest. I can't hear it when I have a DVD playing, which can't be said for the Premium 360 I had first. Sounded like a Jet about to take off!

I actually dont notice the noise when playing games and i have one of the earlier consoles,
