I think you need to do a joint SOA, so that you know how much you both owe. I have a feeling that you will both need to contact a free debt charity like CCCS or Payplan (links at the top of the forum), as I don't think that jointly you have enough to pay off your debts and your OH, once you lose the smp.

I know that leaving children is an issue, but what about doing work when your OH is home? I know this would mean that you would be ships in the night, but needs must and all that.

Will either of the children be turning 3 so that you can get the 5 free sessions any time soon? And can your OH get childcare vouchers from his work?

    best of luck

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • i havent defaulted on any cards or loans so far, i just struggle on but will not be able to pay when mat ends, im not with DCA,S. I feel even worse now as i have had a letter this morning from abbey who we have mortgage with, fiance has had the interest rate fixed for 10 years!! How stupid, i dont get how the abbey can agree to this without my consent and i havent signed anything, even though im a joint name, he said it was all done on the phone, how daft, the interest rates are going to fall this year and now we are stuck with them fixed at prob the highest they would have reached??!!

Hi, my daughter reaches 3 in october so will be able to look into that, she starts nursery next jan. I was going to suggest moving house but we have very little equity in it and nothing is selling at the moment, my mum was going to sell hers and get a larger house in a cheaper area and let us move in with her but her house has been for sale for nearly a year now with nothing doing so shes taking off the market.
  • Night work is something id def look at as needs must and i have worked since leaving school so im not work shy, i just wish i had someone local who could then have children so i could get a few hours sleep lol, just feel like a failure, this debt and my depression stem from a previous relationship, I was taken for a ride in my last relationship, with a much older man, in debt, with bad credit, so i took some of the debts on interest free cards and he paid the min payment, but of course when he left me they were in my name, how stupid am i?? I was 19 he was 36!!
