How far is your commute to work?

Mobile field engineer,

1st breakdown on monday was Oldham, i love the M6, 1.45

tommorow its 3/4 of a mile away, up at 8 o clock then!!!

commuting sucks, I used to to drive 110 miles each day, it felt like I ended up living in that car, and eat more meals in it than I did at home. In the end Got so sick of it I bought a house near the town I worked thenonly a 20 mile commute each day. Then the company relocated and was then 1/2 mile away back in those days it was costing a fortune, the cost of fuel will killing me, but the up keep of the car was worst. with big bills at £300-800 coming every now and again. and then when the car had it having to buy a new car..

Now back to commuting again, this time only 70 mile a day, but this time with a fuel paid company car. it is just about bearable

God, I really feel for the people on here with long commutes, unless you don't mind it that is.

I used to commute to London and back. It took me 4 hours a day, if everything ran on time, which it rarely did. I did this for a year....and even though I had to take a big drop in salary to get a job back near where I lived, it was so worth it. Spending more time with my loved ones meant more to me than having the extra money. I know that in some cases though, some people have no choice.

Mine is a 5 minute walk to the train station, 8 minutes on the train, and then a 10 minute walk to where I work and vice versa!
