If and when i am able to access Broad through aol I will be on BB Gold for £19.99 a month, which is a increase, but i agree its like they don't want extra money.
I have wrote a letter of complaint asking for some compensation for the amount of calls i have made, to their 0870 number. I will report if i am successful in my bid.
I had the same problem but someone pointed me to this... you don't really need the NTL disc so long as you have the pin they should have sent you.his article assumes your cablemodem is connected correctly to your computer either via USB or ethernet network.
Now open up a web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape for example).
You will initially see a Page Can Not Be Displayed error, do not worry as this is normal. Remove all text in the address bar and type https://autoreg.autoregister.net and click Go.
The registration pages will now load. After clicking broadband and register you will need to follow these pages through.
If you currently have a dial up connection (this is internet via NTLworld through a telephone line and a normal modem) you will have the option of bringing your email address across to your cable modem account and at the same time cancelling your dial up account and cancelling the payments being made to them. To do this just click yes when it asks if you have an existing account and when prompted type your username (this is the first part of your email address e.g. john.smith@ntlworld.com would have a username of john.smith) and password (this is the password for your email account).
NOTE: You may get page can not be displayed after you receive your membership number. If this happens please do not worry as this is normal. Just carry on with the steps below.
After completing the registration you will need to shut down the modem and the PC. Wait for 30 seconds then power up the modem only. Wait until the sync and rdy lights have become solid then start your pc up. You should now be able to browse.
EDIT: OOPs.. just re-read your post and it's AOL you are waiting to here from. never mind someone might find the above useful.0
