Well I feel sorry for her. She's quite probably made a mistake with regards to the copyright issues. I think most of us have posted copyrighted recipes at some point on here.
Yes, the pics are misleading but it's hardly the crime of the century.
With people saying "I know who she is" I doubt this poster will be back which would be a shame.0 -

Naah!!! Between the information on the blog and information on MSE, it's really not that difficult to work out who it is :shhh: But, I'm not saying *anything* :silenced:
Really??? (Who mentioned the Daily? )
Oooookay, if you say so. :silenced: :whistle:0 -

If it was a genuine mistake, then she has been afforded an opportunity to keep her anonimity and edit her blog accordingly - no harm done! And surely that's a good thing? Which is better; having the opportunity to put it right, or being sued?
I'm one of those who have said: "I know who she is" or, more accurately - I've worked out who it is - and I've stated quite clearly that it's not my place to say and I won't reveal. *If* the person who wrote the blog makes a decision not to return, then that is *her* choice and not the responsibility of those on here. No one has been rude; no one has been insulting, no one has been two-faced and sugar coated their comments to appear whiter than white!
Personally, I think there are far more covert offensives going on on these boards, founded on nothing more than personal opinion/perception/rumour mongering and female cattiness by a select few, and that is far more "unfair" than in this instance where people have based their opinions on given facts .
That doesn't mean people are out to have the person hung, drawn and quartered~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To be fair to everyone HJ, I feel sorry for everyone! The blogger who, either knowingly or unknowingly, breached copyright and the people who have had their stuff plagiarised! It's a no win either way; there's the potential for someone's feelings get offended/hurt. I agree.
If it was a genuine mistake, then she has been afforded an opportunity to keep her anonimity and edit her blog accordingly - no harm done! And surely that's a good thing? Which is better; having the opportunity to put it right, or being sued? Fair enough.

No one has been rude; no one has been insulting, no one has been two-faced and sugar coated their comments to appear whiter than white! There will always be debate about whether, if someone feels unwelcome or embarrassed enough to stop posting, that is their responsibility. Probably a debate for a different thread though.

I'm sure everyone has their opinion of other posters and I know of fall outs that have taken place but I don't see this coming accross on the board

I think I'll bow out of this now. I really don't wish to start an arguement.0 -
Lesley, up to a point, you do have a point - however, plagiarism is a real problem on the internet and goes beyond simply posting blonde pictures and someone else's pantry! People post on MSE in good faith, they know that this site asserts copyright on all comments posted on the board. However, for someone to take that information, pass it off as their own, well, it's plain dishonest! *THIS* site, is Martin Lewis' website - we are able to post here simply through his generosity in giving us a forum to do so - does that give all users here the right to set up their own website, copy the information, pass it off as their own?
It's Martin's website to do with as he wants - and that includes a clause which clearly states "This site asserts copyright on all comments posted on the board" ... now, if the lady had reposted her OWN content, that might be different - but, she isn't! She is posting Nigella's recipes, Jamie Oliver's recipes (with permission/consent? ) *and* taken recipes from this website (and the OS forum in particular) and used them as her own. She has posted Tesco voucher codes from here too. It's not simply a matter of taking someone else's photo's so "cut her some slack".
Fair point I never thought of it that way and if she had passed one of my recipes off as her own I'd probably have spat my dummy out good style:D I only had the briefest of looks at the blog when the link was first posted so havent gone into any depth. But I am intrigued to know who it is though

I think it is fairly ill-considered to post other people's stuff without any credits due - and thats without the copyright issues invlved.
I don't think it is in any way malicously intended though - more likely to be naiive. The bigger issue would be though, if she does write the book she states she is writing, and doesn't take the copyright into account there - then she would be in deep water. I hope (for her own sake) she reads this and looks at whether or not she should revise anything...0
