What bargains have you got for your 2008 hampers so far?

Hi

Today i went into my local Lakeland shop and got a Willow Basket Trio which are being discontinued. The original price was £17.99 there now £3.99:eek:
They all have a cotton lining. There is one big basket which is approx 51.8cm X 30.4cm X 16.5cm and two smaller baskets which are approx 25.4cm X 22.3cm X 15.3cm.

I am going to use the bigger one for a new mum/baby hamper.

I popped into Poundland and got a lovely baby fleece blanket, a baby set of hat, mittons&boots and a tommee tippee set of 6 food pots with lids.
In boots i managed to find some tommee tippee baby nail scissors reduced to 50p too.:j

What bargains have you managed to find for your 2008 hampers?

Au Naturale had a sale where everything they has priced at 95p was now going through the till at 5 for £2. I managed to get 8 assorted baskets as part of that as well as a couple of hot choc mug sets. They also had lovely decorative dust pans and I bought four of those to make Dustpan Cookies that I saw on here.
As far as hamper contents go, the Boots 75% sale has seen to loads of those. Loads of smellies and cosmetics. Also got a Cyberman battery toothbruch, a Dalek bubble bath and a Sonic screwdriver bubble bath. Will add a couple of wee Dr Who goodies to this for nephew's birthday hamper.
    Love this site!

The toiletries bought with boots skincare vouchers have got to be best so far. They were free! I split my shopping in the 75% off sale into £15 lots to get 100 extra points and then used my friends discount voucher to get 22.5% and got a £5 facial voucher for each purchase.

I think my best bargains have been various chocolates from Lakeland - some dated to March next year, so birthdays and christmas covered. On average I paid £1.20 each for £4-£5 rrps.

    :)

And whilst not strictly for hampers, Littlewoods toy sale has been great - some lovely Giraffe riding sticks (hobby horse type things) there that should have been £20 for £3, and playset backpacks that have a whole house with figures etc inside, should have been £25, paid £5 - I covered 9 birthday and christmas presents there for less than the price of 2.

  • Being stuck at home ill/maternity leave has given me the chance to get all my hamper stuff for birthdays this year in the sale.

    I used the following shops/websites:

    Lakeland
    Hawkins Bazaar
    Boots 75%
    Lego
    Whittards

I added up the other day that i had got £300 of goods for £91.

Definately the most organised i have ever been :T - i love this site - i have especially used the graabit board a lot over sale time :)

A little while before Xmas I bought 6 hatboxes in Argos that were half price - £7 ish.

Got loads of bits and pieces in the 75% Boots Sales to put in the boxes - wine, smellies, wine glass charms etc, so the majority done just need chocs nearer the time.
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000
