Hi Andy,
I'm a joiner and have made sheds for 5 of my neighbours(its a long story,surfice as to say I'm a sucker for a sob story).
I wouldn't use WBP ply to clad the outside of the shed as the ply we get now is cheap and imported from China and it has voids in the layers of the ply which can de-laminate after a month or so...
I make my sheds out of ex3x2 CLS (Canadian lumber standard) most timber merchants stock it, its basically sawn timber that is planed up,regularised and the corners rounded off.Treat all timbers especially the end grain with preservative (personally I prefer spirit based ones like Cuprinol 5 star rather than water based preservers which DO NOT penetrate the timber...
I clad mine in prepared(planed) "shiplap", buy a standard door frame and a standard "framed ,ledged and braced door"(I wound,nt use just legded and braced doors as they are generally poor quality and easy to break into)...For the roof you could use the bitumen corregated sheets.
Generally speaking the cost of materials for a 3mx2.4 metre shed with a pitched roof would be around £500....But the shed would be far better quality than the rubbish they sell at "The Sheds"......0 -
Hi all,
I purchased a shed in the summer from B&Q. Not too difficult to construct as long as there are 2 or 3 of you around.
But I found this site that might be useful if you really want to build one from scratch. As I am new I cant post links but PM me and I can send you to it.
They have around 12,000 blueprints and designs etc.

Is it free or full of spam?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Thanks leveller 2911. I never knew, until your post, that CLS meant Canadian Lumber Standard. I suppose that I was too lazy to look it up.You live and learn.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

The site looks like a blog but then theres a couple of links to a shed building site.
There are some freebies and then some paid plans too. Looks quite good actually.0 -
I've been trawling through sites now looking for plans, there are some out there including;
theres one called buildeazy and one from blackanddecker. both of these sites are dot com
I've now got some basic ideas, just need to start to price the job up and away I go, can't wait!
Thanks for all the other responses0 -
