I would suggest that you can scan some stuff if you want to keep a record rather than treasure the item itself.

It will be hard to throw things away but you are creating new memories all the time.
You wouldn't believe how much stuff we threw out when I moved in. We've only been living together for a year and a 1/2 and had to combine two households. I got rid of SO much stuff, and some of the stuff I couldn;t get rid of is in that storage box. If we had room at home to store it, we would.
We actually went through it all last saturday (believe it or not) and sorted some stuff out, but still not enough to get rid of the box.

Well done for posting & getting help with your debt, it's all a step in the right direction. I'm sure it all seems overwhelming at the moment but remember you're starting to take control of it now.
I'm a temp at the moment, I find registering with an agency in person seems to work better than online etc, also some of them are notoriously bad at getting in touch so be pro-active, keep contacting them to let them know you're free and ask what jobs available. Also, how about registering your cv on a website so that potential employers can contact u - amazing how many phone calls you can get!

Yep, registered in person for both, and was actually at one of the agencies again on Friday doing some computer assessments.
I've emailed both agencies this morning and been told that they have nothing for me at the moment - it's so disheartening.

I just feel so overwhelmed at the moment and am not sure where to start.

How big is the container you are renting? Is it full? Do you not have any loft space?
You currently pay out £240 a year for that which is more than you pay for car insurance! If you got rid of it, it would effectively be like saying you could get your insurance and MOT free each year!
This is how you make up the defecit by chopping away at everything.0 -

It's not going to happen unless you start to make it.
Have you checked about tax/child credits or whatever they are called? Thats the first thing to do as it may mean you are due some money!0 -

I don;t think £100 a week is too much for groceries when we've got a 16yo boy and a cat?
At the moment we have lodgers so there are 4 adults and a cat in our house (as well as three lizards, a tribe of locusts and a large colony of cockroaches that eat loads and loads of veg between them). The two men have large appetites and the other girl is a vegetarian so we end up buying expensive quorn products etc. We do all our shopping and cooking together and spend about £60 a week.0 -

I think the biggest thing to realise is that every penny really really does countYes the huge things like the school fees are big big chunks of income. But all of the little things really do add up. The storage box is only £20 a month but over a year that's £240. If you were to start eating on £200 a month that saves you nearly £2.5k over the year. I have to admit that this has been my stumbling block in the past, not realising that all those stray £10s really add up to something
It is a complete refocus.
The other thing is that if you're not having much luck in getting a job then you should try to see MS as the equivalent. I know it's difficult because a lot of the info is in your OHs name. However I'd suggest when he's phoning people to check on stuff that he authorises you on his various accounts etc at the same time so that you can deal with things from now on. That way you will still be making a huge contribution. You are at the minute time rich and it's worth trying to use this to best advantage. BTW you should be able to get quotes on home insurance etc yourself, that is quite a bit at the minute, we pay £23 PM for buildings and contents for a 4 bed detatched house.
Finally do you have any friends with storage space if you can't fit your stuff into the loft? You might be surprised if you ask around.0
