Hi Guys
My hubbie & I are looking at going to Barcelona in June for a long weekend. I am really struggling as all the hotels are really expensive & was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks Guys for all your help

try bcninternet.com for apartments. they rent short term apartments ideal for weekends. I've used them and some friends have used them too. Very helpful staff. best of luck0

Go to http://rentals.loquo.com/english/barcelona&t=room. Lots of people here rent out rooms in their flats to short-term guests, and you will find some listings in English if your Spanish isn't great.
Ask if you need any suggestions as to which area (am long-term resident of Barcelona). As for flights, book as early as possible, as the hen/stag party season will be in full swing by then.0 -

hi
I am coming over for the grand prix in april we are over for 6 nights 23rd-29th april
what area would you recomend we dont want to be too far out etc which is why I have been looking at the ramblas etc
any thoughts

The area around las Rambles is known as the Gothic Quarter. There are several high class hotels at the top of there at Plaça de Catalunya. Stay away from any of the cheap accommodation at the bottom of Las Ramblas on the right as you are looking at the sea, that is the red light area.hi

johnThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
hi
looking for a cheap and cheerful apartment rather than a hotel because of cost (there are 4 adults)
I have stayed in an apartment above a irish bar just off the ramblas in a square (cant remeber the name of the pub but if you are looking at the sea it was close to the bottem of the ramblas on the left the square was by a burger king or maccys and had a statue close to the enterance of the square)
but i cant find it anywhere
any ideas

oh yes the square also had an exit to an underground carpark in it as well
it was a great apt could not hear much noise from the pub and had a small balcony you could just fit 2 chairs on for a bit of outside space
if that helps

Ferron is the name of the street., we stayed there as well, nice well lit apartments. Just to repeat what I said in an earlier post, be careful of staying in apartments, they are usually down badly lit back streets, and there is no security. we had a guy get in our lift with us and pull out a knife, luckily I only had 10 euros on me, so he took that and got out. I assume all of the robbers know where these apartments are. It's the luxury of a hotel for me from now onhi
