Freezer starting to empty out so here's this weeks menus. Hoping to stay within budget.
Sat mushroom soup/ dhal ,aubergine curry,rice
Sun bacon+eggs/ chicken roast
Mon – chicken sweetcorn/ curry rice
Tuesday – lentil soup/ out?
Wed – tuna sweetcorn/ chicken tarragon pancakes
Thursday –spicy sweet potato soup/ chili

I really need to empty my freezer so I can defrost it. However, trying not to waste anything, I have loads of breadcrumbs as I keep blitzing stale bread instead of feeding the birds!
Fri - Pork meatballs with curry sauce
Sat - meal out (scampi and chips)
Sun - Mustard Chicken with celeriac and carrot mash
Mon - Pork burgers (Fridays leftovers)
Tues - on my own, prob fish finger sandwich
Wed - freezer/storecupboard challenge!
Thurs - Fishcakes
Hmmm, need to organise myself. Also, watching Jamie at Home. I've never been a big fan of leeks, but I might have a rethink!0 -
A bit late posting, but here goes
Sat - Sticky Chicken, Rice and Stir Fried Veg
Sun - Roast Chicken, Roast Pots and Parsnips, Swede Mash, Carrots, Broccoli, Runner Beans and Stuffing
Mon - Pork Steaks, Mustard Mash and Veg
Tues - Rubber Chicken Curry and Rice
Weds - Jackets and Chilli
Thurs - HM Pork burgers, wedges and salad
Breakfast - usually something cooked even on work days - I find it stops me picking
Lunches are a mixture of salads or soups
I am on target for my grocery challenge - £200 from 19th January till 18th February for 4, sometimes 5.
Week 1 - £64.85 included dishwasher tablets

Sat: Lunch - pasta for OH and children, kind-of-asian soup using beef consomme, tom yum paste, vegies and noodles for me; children's party in pm; sausage sandwiches with onion marmelade for supper
Sun: Lunch - tortilla with added bacon & peppers, tomato salad; roast lamb, mixed roast veg & gravy
Mon: shepherds pie
Tues: ravioli & tomato sauce (the ravioli is in the freezer, hm tomato sauce)
Wed: DH away overnight. Roast turkey from freezer, with vegetables.
Thurs: DH late back: fishfingers for children, Mince curry from freezer for me & DH
Fri: root veg & nut crumble from BBC veg christmas.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000 -

Sat - Out for dinner with parents (went to see Strictly Come Dancing which was great!!)
Sun - Chicken Salad
Mon - Shepherds Pie
Tue - Spaghetti Carbonara
Wed - Shepherds Pie (again)
Thu - Macaroni Cheese & Garlic Bread
Fri - Haggis, Neeps & Tatties (Burns Night)
Lunch will be sandwiches and lots of homemade soup (got a variety left in the freezer from last week so less cooking this week!!!)0 -

Fri-Pizza, salad, coleslaw
Sat-Jamies leek, parma ham pasta thingy (can recommend tho did from memory so may not have been 100% authentic!!!)
Sun-out with DH, DD1, DD2 for my birthday meal-(was on Weds)(long story!!!)
Mon-Ultimate burgers, ciabatta, salad.
Tues-Cheese and potato pie, roast balsamic tomatoes, sweet onion marmalade.
Weds-Chilli(freezer), wraps or rice and salad
Thurs-Sausage and celeriac mash with green peppercorns, onion gravy

sun..Roast chicken dinner
mon..chickensalad (need Salad stuff)
tue..shepherds pie(use half the mince)
wed..pasta bake (use rest of salad)
thur..fishcakes and chips
fri..spaghetti bolognaise(other half of mince)
sat...Lamb and mnit sos with mash and peas(thankyou butcher friend for the sos)
I love planning it out because if i don't myDS1 would moan til he has junk. Thsi way i can already be cooking it before he gets a chance.

Cannylass - did you use ordinary (dried) pasta? I just dont think I could bring myself to buy fresh pasta, unless it was reduced!! Happy belated birthday xx0 -

I did use fresh pasta, a la jamie, as my OH thought we should!! :eek: i have to say it went against the grain though!!! and i think it would be just as good with dried pasta!!!
