We're going to Olu Deniz in May, and it looks really nice. We're taking children aged 11, 9 and 1.

There is a water park at Calis called the Sultans Aquacity, which we are planning to go to.
Here I go again on my own....
  • We love Turkey and Greece, been to Greece five times and this year we will be going to Turkey for the third time, staying on the Bodrum peninsula.

I went to Side last year as my first ever package holiday.

We actually stayed just outside Side in a place called Kemer, which is more British than Side itself.

It's quite a laid back place, or another way to see it is there wasn't much going on.

We went to Manavgat market and to be honest, people constantly trying it on with my 17 year old niece got me rather heated. In fact, one of the Turks got a proper telling off from the Granny Mafia :D

We also went to the Troy Aqua Park in Antalya. Full of Russians and Germans, awful food and a severe lack of health and safety:eek:

But at least the kids were impressed.

As previously mentioned adaland in kusadasi is ok but just up the road is an incredible 5* hotel called Aqua Fantasy, I stayed there last year its great. First Choice fly there. Its got free entry to its own water park great for kids. Hotel is stunning. Look it up on the internet, you won't be disapointed

Another bit of advice just popped into my head, pay for everything with Euros. Don't use Turkish money as the exchange rate in Turkey is rubbish so the locals prefer the Euro.

I think this may be a myth.

When I went to Istanbul in 2003 I made sure I had plenty of euros with me. As a bargaining strategy, I tried switching my offer between Turkish lire, sterling, and euro (I was carrying all three). The person selling to me tried to detect which currency I wanted to use, and acted as if he was giving me a particularly good price for paying in that currency. However, so far as I can tell the actual cost (at the exchange rates that I had used to get the currency) did not change at all. I have a degree in Mathematics and so understand how to convert between currencies, but these guys are real professionals and a lot of the time their arithmetic was much too fast for me.

However, the whole process was fun, and no matter how much I spent, no matter which currency I used, they managed to convince me that I had got a terrific bargain. They are really good at sales!
